Few thing comes into my mind:

You will have limited option when it comes to BCD rental (Cannot pick best condition among the worse) as they have less XL? sized BCD compared to L and so on.

Same goes to wet suit rental, cannot pick the wetsuit that has less torn/hole.

Need to carry more weight in order to sink, which makes you work harder to "move" underwater, hence less time underwater (consume more oxygen). Normally should not be an issue for OW, just less "play" time while doing first few OW test, assuming you manage to pass the assessment without multiple attempt.

May need more practice taking off and wearing BCD on water (part of the test).

And depends on your body metabolism (someone with larger body mass may consume more oxygen), passing CESA (Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent) test mayb tricky.

wanna take up the padi diving course and i see that it can be done at tasik saujana putra to complete the course. Besides the water there being not that clear, any other things that i should take note of for not completing the course there?

East Coast: Perhentian, Tioman, Kuantan, Bidong is in my list this year. Not really have plan yet... But definitely will go!
On-hold first due to possible election day. I will not joining if election crash on my date.
But I do bring 3 China Students for OW Certification. If election fall during tat period, OWC will still go on but with local instructor.

Pulau Bohey Dulang, 1 dive in Twin Rocks dive site to spot Pgymy seahorse at 22m. 1 climb up to the peak of Bohey Dulang of course.
Pulau Pom Pom: Muck Dive x2, hopefully can catch a glimpse of bull sharks and blue ringed octopus
Pulau Pandanan: Sting Ray Site...
Pulau Timba - Timba, Pulau Mantabuan:  couldn't recall what I see last time... have to check back my log
Pulau Mataking: Post Office/Wreck on 19m
Pulau Sibuan: Mandarin Bay (many goby, dont recall seeing any mandarin fish)
few more to explore... exploring some new sites as well...

Im planing to get my OW next month at Tioman Udive. i got few questions

anyone dive there before? comments?
Any thing i should prepare or take note for the trip?
How hard will the test be like in term of the theory test and confined water? need to write long ass essay or just MCQ? haha

I'm going to get my open diving license in Sabah.

Do you think it's a good choice to take in Sabah or should I just take it in penisular malaysia?

It cost me about rm900 just for diving and hostel stay for 4days 3 nights. My plan is to take a license there and then stay for few more nights where I will be going out there to dive at different spot.

When you do sidemount do you mean to dive for longer time? I remember last time when I went diving with a friend who did sidemount the entire trip...and he has to face downwards when we were at surface. 

is there a relationship between how much air you consumed within the same amount of bottom time with likeliness to get decompression sickness? Compare 50 minutes with 150 bar vs 50 minutes with 300 bar (I assume SM config is both 200 bar).
Not sure if this was taught during OW lessons, either way I don't know.
