Guys, guys, relax here. For the price of GX one can get a car with 6 airbags. Almera VL model has 2 airbags. Yes, if compares to GX, the price difference is a very big gap between the two especially in 2018.
*
For the price of Almera E one can get a two saga with 2 airbags each. That's 4 airbags. What a bargain. To be honest, you are not helping anyone here. He asking for a promotion for a car, which probably mean he already decided on it. People dont just buy car for airbags. You are a car owner, there must be a reason for you to bought an Almera, maybe because of its look, or the practicality of it. For whatever reason, just love your car and respect others decision on their car.

The biased view of a fan. Understandable.
But that guy really clutching at straws for trying to justify the premium price with reputation and at the same time condemning other car manufacturer compromised their quality, does he even have proof of that?

What do you expect, this is a Vios owner thread after all. Of course there will be a fan for this car. I'm one of them, that is why I bought one.

But if you really need a proof...

Problem per car 62/100 and it's only better by 4 cars? and customer service quality survey, really? You call this as proof?

It's ok, i'm just stating his weak points on the premium pricing.

I've no doubt about Toyota but not UMW.

4 cars is still better. And cheaper to maintain too. I'm sure you are very satisfied with you current 10th gen Honda civic. For that amount of money, you sure got a lot for a car. But that just it.

Honda Malaysia sold too much to keep up with other services. I'm pretty sure Honda will have a better aftersale service in due time. I don't own a Honda to validate the J D power survey conducted in 2017 for customers satisfaction. But at least I don't go into other car thread just to make myself feel good about the thing I purchased.

I’m not surprised you took the effort to check what I drive if I’m driving a Altis you won’t be saying what you said above.

In my previous post, I did not even wrote a single bad thing about Toyota cars and here you are, assuming I’m here to compare which car brand is better.

No car/brand is perfect and I don’t share nonsense like better reputation warrants higher pricing and condemning other car manufacturers compromising their quality which he has no proof.

Cheers.

If you are driving an Altis, you won't be here commenting on others car. I agree on your statement about the no car/brand is perfect, so here in this Vios owner thread, people mostly complain about the car and how to fix it. Same as the other threads. You never said a bad thing about Toyota cars, but here you are dissing others opinion and when given a proof, ignoring it. You said "I don’t share nonsense like better reputation warrants higher" but in reality, of course it does, that's why company trying to build their reputation, to sell it at higher price.

Likewise, I never wrote a bad thing about Honda car. I kinda like Honda car, especially the new Civic. Its beautiful (accept for the butt, i don't like), and full of kit. It just out of my price range.

I owned a Proton before, no matter how much I love it, it was full of small problem that accumulate into big headache and money burner. And it was worthless in second hand value. So for my next car, I want it to be reliable throughout its whole life with me and if I want to sell it, at least it got a little value left in it. That is why I choose a Toyota brand.

Cheers mate.

And speaking about my car, I want to tinted the top of my windshield, but I have the digital video recorder (dashcam) option in front of the rear view mirror. Can it be done without obstructing the dashcam?

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Mar 24 2018, 10:14 PM)
Will be added advantage if you hv all round DISC Brakes, as it is more effective in the friction and heat.
This is because the disc expands and is closer to the pads, even when the calipers and clamps are relaxed.
As such, you don’t need to force the pedal so much to make a connection and brake. Instead of housing the major components
within a metal drum, disc brakes use a slim rotor and small caliper to halt wheel movement. Within the caliper are two brake pads,
one on each side of the rotor, that clamp together when the brake pedal is pressed. Once again, fluid is used
to transfer the movement of the brake pedal into the movement of the brake pads.

But unlike drum brakes, which allow heat to build up inside the drum during heavy braking, the rotor used in disc brakes is fully exposed to outside air.

Will be good comparisons feeling, if you got few cars or use brother/sister cars, to see the effectiveness,
efficient and stop with CONFIDENCE . With few cars, of course you will be seen in few car clubs to provide feedback/discussions.
Airbags, DISC Brakes, REVERSE CAMERA, SENSOR of BLIND SPOT, ABS, VSC ..etc..etc  many safety features were ulmost important.
Of course, BRAND and reputation for many DECADES plays important decision making too, as you will pay premium price for it.
Compromised quality in many Automotive Magazine will helps too. We all Hope NO compromised quality when we need these SAFETY features, especially airbags and brakes ..

Most car accident happened because of distraction and recklessness. No matter how good your brake was it doesn't matter if you didn't hit it. We all know about how the disc is better than the drum, but it does not mean that the drum brake didn't do its job. Front disc brake and rear drum brake is good enough stopping power for a compact car segment with low horse power and torque. What happened if other car hurling towards you, is disc brake gonna save your life? That is when the importance of airbag come to play. I wish UMV toyota give a little bit more attention on its car safety features. Disc rear brake is good, but more airbag is better in my honest opinion.

Hello guys, while I was browsing facebook, I found this image in one of the Vios club on facebook. It say it only took 3 hours to install the cruise control that he bought from China. Can it really be done? How much would it cost? Is it safe?

sorry for asking this, the DVR from toyota is it self recording or we need to press the REC button every time we start our engine?
*
it records video (5 minutes long interval) every time you start your engine. And when your memory card is almost full, it will delete old recording automatically. If you have something to save, just press the red button and the 5 minutes video that was recording at time you pressed it will be saved. It will also save automatically when you got into an accident.

here is the sample from last year while driving at night.

Lol, high price to pay for a cool cosmetic effect that can be observed when the surrounding is dark.
*
well, I drive mostly at night, so it might be cool. But the price... better find a glow in the dark key chain. tongue.gif
