QUOTE(Antzfield @ Mar 19 2018, 11:40 AM) So fast there is recall? On what issue? Yup and they would not have responded this fast (or if at all) if people didn't rise up and complain against them on social media and offices. Doing so threatens their rice bowl as unlike in the past where one has to depend on the SA telling the truth, buyers are more tech savvy now and news spreads. So if they didn't fix it and simply kept saying "its normal". Well, we all know how Malaysian perceptions work and its influence in our decision making process. At least Honda is responsible and fix whatever is not right instead of shielding from problems noted For now, they've acknowledged what I believe is the most critical issue.. Random complete failure of the Electric Power Steering system..Hopefully the other issues will be rectified as well or changes made for future batches. QUOTE(Not A GTR fanboy @ Mar 20 2018, 02:19 PM) Hi Guys! Wrong place to ask such.. You are better off necroing one of the many such versus threads or creating a new one... And make sure to put in a poll for easy weigh-ins..I'm considering 1.5TC CR-V 2WD(without Honda Sensing) or Mazda CX-5 2.0 GLS (not a fan of diesel engine, tht's y choose the 2.0GLS) Mainly town use (but will use for long distance travelling as well) Need some owners or experts opinion on the following aspects: -fuel consumption -reliability -maintenance cost (especially for the turbo in crv) -after sales service -price of spare parts (in case anything is broken) -comfort -handling -NVH -power (when travelling around 150-160km/h) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(johnnycp @ Mar 23 2018, 08:10 AM) Already received the letter says EPS issue need to replace immediately. Others probably got but maybe don't frequent this thread or even know of the forum.Seems weird only me received the recall letter QUOTE(Henry T @ Mar 23 2018, 09:13 AM) Lucky you then.. Hopefully it only affects certain batches. Either that or they don't want to overwhelm the SCs by recalling all at once. QUOTE(ftan @ Mar 23 2018, 11:36 AM) You are welcome.. |

QUOTE(ramzi1508 @ Mar 24 2018, 10:05 AM) Just want to share another common issue with CRV is the front bumper where the bottom black bumper is kind of detached from the bumper body creating visible and gap between the two. As i spoke to my SA, this is common issue and i have noticed this on 50% of CRV that i came across with. Noticed this too but rest assured.. It can be fixed.. Got several cases of it being fixed.. Im at Honda SC no trying to fix mine. Hopefully they do it with quality and pose no defects to other parts.[attachmentid=9686498] |

QUOTE(johnnycp @ Apr 4 2018, 08:34 PM) Shitty build quality.. It's not supposed to move like that. Time to claim warranty. But according to others already suffering this, you'll be told no parts available and have to wait. Dunno how long and why difficult to get parts for a recently released vehicle. Who knows, maybe SC in your area has it. Else, good luck. Only a matter of time till it breaks off. |

QUOTE(Xonius @ May 4 2018, 03:58 PM) Hey guise, mind telling me your oil change intervals? Yep, can't be helped at least within warranty period. You may experiment after that expires. Your SA should have informed you of this.. Similarly, you should have researched the differences between both engines before purchasing one. With the 1.5T, more city driving = shorter engine oil change cycle. My car is asking me to change my oil despite it being only driven for 4.5k km. I'm a little puzzled. Was told by my SA it is due to my driving style, truthfully i don't even floor it, always relaxed driving. Only that it is 90% in city driving. My other cars have never acted this way, even my conti is still ok at every 10k km. I thought there would be less maintenance issue with a jap car. QUOTE(TYK @ May 4 2018, 08:04 PM) Actually from what I read, more specifically, is short driving cycle is not ideal for turbocharged engine, probably not enough cooling for the engine oil. From what I understand, you are correct.. The turbo engine requires a little extra maintenance than non-turbo 2.0.This one needs engine expert to give more accurate inputs. |

QUOTE(faradie @ May 18 2018, 10:33 PM) My friend owns a Kia Carnival and top spec CRV and I asked him overall his personal bias and why. he preferred the Kia overall and complained that the CRV was very noisy on the highway. Do you have the same problem as him for the CRV? The CRV's NVH levels is subjective.. Some say it's quiet, others say it's noisy. So I guess, it depends on what car it's being compared with, especially if one is switching from a quieter car. As for me, it was noisier than its other competitors I surveyed. I didn't compare with the Kia Carnival as that car serves a completely different purpose.Oh yeah, for those who'd like to purchase the CRV.. Official sales prices without GST have been released and you can save as much as RM12,474 off the list price of the top spec 1.5 TCP, provided you buy within the "tax free window", before SST is reintroduced. There are some who suggest that folks still don't buy yet as SST rates haven't been announced and or the new government might slash prices further by reducing other taxes. So buy now or roll the dice a little bit more. This post has been edited by voncrane: May 19 2018, 05:15 AM |

QUOTE(denver @ May 20 2018, 10:26 PM) I am considering to buy the new CRV, but the lack of built-in GPS navigation is a potential deal breaker for me. Been reading this forum, and found that can use Android Auto and use Waze through it. How does this work? Need to plug in your phone to the USB, then open waze from your phone, the waze will appear on the CRV's 7 inch head unit? And we can control waze from there (search and select destination etc)? With Android Auto and supporting handset, you really don't want the inbuilt navigation.. Those are typically laggy and older maps. Nothing as updated as Google Maps or Waze. Using AA is easy and best way to explain how it works is for you to watch it in action. Just go to YouTube and search for AA videos.. Far superior. My SA suggested that if I really want built-in GPS navigation, they can install "android box" (which costs RM2k+), or alternatively, and install honda's own nagivation system which costs RM4k+. I asked more details but my SA also dont know much. Anyone know about these options? |

QUOTE(denver @ May 23 2018, 04:33 PM) Yes, superior, but I think the main disadvantage is that we have to plug in the phone every time we get in the car to enjoy AA. Yeah.. I agree. Thing is, there's a little solution for that. Can get a sub RM500 or similarly priced Android phone.. Can be a better spec used unit too.. Have that purely for the car's AA support. Can use Wifi hotspot feature from your main device or get a supplementary SIM. This way, you don't have to worry about overusing your main phone all the time. I mean, if you are one to use the maps everyday. Worthy investment. Just be sure the phone plays well with AA. |

QUOTE(wshoh @ May 24 2018, 10:15 AM) Alternatively, Honda Hack it and install Waze. Guess that works too.. As long as no issue with warranty claims. Good option.Search the thread for instructions. Pay USD$25 (used to be USD$18) for Pro features, totally worth the price just to have auto-click start-up disclaimer and Waze start automagically immediately thereafter. Have had the Honda Hack for months without any problems, Waze is slightly laggy initially due to headunit's processor but does the job. I hotspot with my iPhone SE for internet data and run Spotify/TuneIn Radio via Apple Carplay simultaneously. Pandora (with VPN) works too. Recommended that you use a vent mount though (eg Kenu Airframe) to avoid heat issues which will kill your battery. If not tech inclined, you can always pay someone to do it, rather than risk bricking the headunit. |

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ May 27 2018, 07:54 PM) Went for another test drive today, looks like almost all showrooms are having the 1.5TCP, can't find the 2.0 test drive car yet. According to the SA, the waiting period is ~2 months, earliest to get the car is July. I think the waiting period could increase with the 0% GST and depending on which dealer as well. TLDR: Go with your heart.. There be no perfect car.For me I'm really in dilemma now as to choose CRV or not even though I like the design and specs of the CRV very much. This 1.5TCP test drive car is worse than the one I test drove earlier, the car is very noisy, the tyre noise is very obvious even at 60km/h, and step on the pedal give loud engine noise with no immediate response from the engine. Comfort is low with hard seats and vibration going over rough roads. Have a chat with the couples who test drove the same CRV before me and they have the same comments, they said they will most probably get the CX5 diesel instead. Then gone to the next door to test the Subaru XV and Forester, immediate can feel the much better comfort and NVH. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by voncrane: May 27 2018, 11:02 PM |

QUOTE(herzeleid @ Jun 5 2018, 10:19 AM) For the turbo variant, there's definitely a Maintenance reminder for Service A..This fluctuates based on driving styles or car usage. I'm not so sure about the B part. It's my understanding that it simply follows the standard mileage or time period for servicing. |
