So fast there is recall? On what issue?

At least Honda is responsible and fix whatever is not right instead of shielding from problems noted

I'm considering 1.5TC CR-V 2WD(without Honda Sensing) or Mazda CX-5 2.0 GLS (not a fan of diesel engine, tht's y choose the 2.0GLS)
Mainly town use (but will use for long distance travelling as well)
Need some owners or experts opinion on the following aspects:

-fuel consumption
-reliability
-maintenance cost (especially for the turbo in crv)
-after sales service
-price of spare parts (in case anything is broken)
-comfort
-handling
-NVH
-power (when travelling around 150-160km/h)

Anyone received an official recall letter from Honda?

Already received the letter says EPS issue need to replace immediately.
Seems weird only me received the recall letter

I checked. There is no recall for my 2.0L. Maybe not yet.

Just want to share another common issue with CRV is the front bumper where the bottom black bumper is kind of detached from the bumper body creating visible and gap between the two. As i spoke to my SA, this is common issue and i have noticed this on 50% of CRV that i came across with.

Im at Honda SC no trying to fix mine. Hopefully they do it with quality and pose no defects to other parts.[attachmentid=9686498]

Is the EPS only apply to model with Honda Sensing? The motor will move the steering when you drive outside the lane?

My car is asking me to change my oil despite it being only driven for 4.5k km. I'm a little puzzled.

Was told by my SA it is due to my driving style, truthfully i don't even floor it, always relaxed driving. Only that it is 90% in city driving. My other cars have never acted this way, even my conti is still ok at every 10k km. I thought there would be less maintenance issue with a jap car.

Actually from what I read, more specifically, is short driving cycle is not ideal for turbocharged engine, probably not enough cooling for the engine oil.

This one needs engine expert to give more accurate inputs.

My friend owns a Kia Carnival and top spec CRV and I asked him overall his personal bias and why. he preferred the Kia overall and complained that the CRV was very noisy on the highway. Do you have the same problem as him for the CRV?

I am considering to buy the new CRV, but the lack of built-in GPS navigation is a potential deal breaker for me. Been reading this forum, and found that can use Android Auto and use Waze through it. How does this work? Need to plug in your phone to the USB, then open waze from your phone, the waze will appear on the CRV's 7 inch head unit? And we can control waze from there (search and select destination etc)?

My SA suggested that if I really want built-in GPS navigation, they can install "android box" (which costs RM2k+), or alternatively, and install honda's own nagivation system which costs RM4k+. I asked more details but my SA also dont know much. Anyone know about these options?

Yes, superior, but I think the main disadvantage is that we have to plug in the phone every time we get in the car to enjoy AA.

Alternatively, Honda Hack it and install Waze.

Search the thread for instructions. Pay USD$25 (used to be USD$18) for Pro features, totally worth the price just to have auto-click start-up disclaimer and Waze start automagically immediately thereafter.

Have had the Honda Hack for months without any problems, Waze is slightly laggy initially due to headunit's processor but does the job.

I hotspot with my iPhone SE for internet data and run Spotify/TuneIn Radio via Apple Carplay simultaneously. Pandora (with VPN) works too. Recommended that you use a vent mount though (eg Kenu Airframe) to avoid heat issues which will kill your battery.

If not tech inclined, you can always pay someone to do it, rather than risk bricking the headunit.

So back to my original question, if I change the rims, will it has any impact on the warranty?

I have e-mail Honda Malaysia and will wait for their feedback. Will share when I get the answer.

Went for another test drive today, looks like almost all showrooms are having the 1.5TCP, can't find the 2.0 test drive car yet. According to the SA, the waiting period is ~2 months, earliest to get the car is July. I think the waiting period could increase with the 0% GST and depending on which dealer as well.

For me I'm really in dilemma now as to choose CRV or not even though I like the design and specs of the CRV very much. This 1.5TCP test drive car is worse than the one I test drove earlier, the car is very noisy, the tyre noise is very obvious even at 60km/h, and step on the pedal give loud engine noise with no immediate response from the engine. Comfort is low with hard seats and vibration going over rough roads. Have a chat with the couples who test drove the same CRV before me and they have the same comments, they said they will most probably get the CX5 diesel instead.

Then gone to the next door to test the Subaru XV and Forester, immediate can feel the much better comfort and NVH.

Is there a maintenance minder Service A / B like Honda Civic?
