People that designed the game spend most of their time doing the technical work and going through tonnes of coding rather then regular people who spend most of their time playing the game. 
Yes it is true that game creator know every inches of the map from but have you ever come to think of it that dota is NOT only about know the game? What ever happened to the micro skill? teamwork skill?
