I have fullbar lte locked in both lte band. Your theory not making sense.

Edited:- let's see how long you take to make up new theory laugh.gif
*
Y it is related to full bar or no.
What i wanna tell is the phone must tell the network it is able to handover =.=
Not drop to 3g...
U know what is difference between handover and drop (fallback)?....

For maxis n celcom, user will drop to 3g to make and receive call
For others, volte user will handover to 3g if there is weak LTE coverage.

U can say me wrong if u can get volte if u force the band to 4g band only ohmy.gif
Else we are actually on same channel ...

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 13 2018, 10:44 PM)
Nope. It still use the same lte band. It just use 4g data to send your voice to base station. Something like Skype, Whatsapp etc.

U explaining about volte or ott based voice call?
For volte, UE will use diff path to reach ims network

When ue attach to 4g network, phone will tell network that it can support data and voice over ps.
Network verify that it can support voice over ps and inform UE.
Then now is all UE call
1st scenario: if the mobile data at UE is enabled, network will create a path for internet (using data apn, celcom is celcom3g, um is um3g, digi is diginet)
2nd scenario: if the volte calls at UE is enabled, UE will trigger to ask for path to register volte. (So far all telco in malaysia using ims apn)

Means data and volte are 2 diff thing, we can verify by disable mobile data to check whether the volte icon still there or no smile.gif

Mmm...i guess Samsung works differently.

But i just tried on my A7 2017, the volte logo just disappeared if i forced to 4g only.. ohmy.gif

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 13 2018, 11:02 PM)
1. That’s why I told you there’s no weak lte coverage at my area
2. In iPhone you need to enable data with voice to get volte. They are the same thing.
*
Lolx, ur area has full bar lte doesn't mean all users having full bar ah...
The phone n of coz the network need to design for scenario whr ppl fall into weak coverage area when they make/receive call...

Phone needs to inform its capabilities to handover to 3g. Not inform network that all calls will drop to 3g.

I agree with u for item no 2 btw smile.gif

Dial *#2263# to force lte?
*
Yes
Tried 2 scenario:

1) force to LTE all -> volte logo hilang
2) disable common wcdma band in malaysia (2100 n 900) -> volte remain

2nd scenario is the best way to force phone stay at 4g only as the phone cannot handover/drop to 3g

So, ur phone will get volte n 4g all the while, OR
Emergency call only if u out of lte coverage lolx

Errr, wondering need to disable 2g band or no to remain at 4g. As i duno digi/other operators implement handover from volte to 2g or no.

so, device that wants to use VoLTE *MUST* still be able to fallback to 3G - as failover. VoLTE is just a preferred option when possible.

this requirement of VoLTE needing to be able to failover to 3G is applicable to only Digi network? all in malaysia? or wordwide?
*
I guess it is standard as there is no device comes with LTE only band.
Need to check the log if wanna further verify..
