First, car dealership would send your car to be tinted at a shop. Your 'Toyota premium tint' may just actually be Ecotint or Raytech.

Second, JPJ and Puspakom do not endorse any tint film legality.

If refer to the above article, there is this statement.

"Also now standard for the Vios 1.5E and 1.5J is Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film for the glass all around the cabin.
Complying with JPJ regulations, the Premium Security & Solar Film cuts glare and solar heat transmission with up to 99% of harmful ultraviolet ray’s rejection."

All lier

3rd party comes to their workshop to tint your car and they charge you a premium

At least for my Subaru I got it free

Paid a lot for the Honda tint and never going to do that again

What I meant was the authorities never 'approved' any film. So be aware that some shops said that their tint is JPJ-approved. The most important thing is after the tint the VLT is within threshold.

Different glasses have different natural tint, take that also into consideration.

Meanwhile, the other Vios variants (except 1.5E & 1.5J) now comes with Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film developed and manufactured using nanotechnology methods.
The film complies with JPJ regulations and is certified by PUSPAKOM.
The film also includes a security layer to delay grass breakage besides providing protection from the sun.

What kind of warranty by Toyota? If the tint warranty, it will be covered by tint manufacturer. I think it is just a tint company that collaborate with Toyota to give additional "feature" to customer thinking it is from Toyota. I've never heard Toyota investment in tint technology smile.gif

How good is the tint in blocking heat? JPJ compliant and tint performance is separate thing. A tint can be lighter or darker but still pass JPJ compliance. Different car may have different percentage in passing visible light. So, when tint is added, it is the combination of both glass and tint that count whether it will pass or fail the JPJ requirement. This one is endorsed by Toyota to be passed. Maybe Toyota get good deal and charge customer at retail tint price. This is just my guess biggrin.gif

puspakom lepas or not is up to u
mine i choose not lepas one, i dont care much as usually I'll avoid to enter/going out from KL, Puchong, Subang and Sunway during night time because usually got roadblock every weekend

the budget also up to your pocket, but I choose the 80-90% heat rejection and it cost me about 2K.. dont't remember much

eh correct me if I'm wrong but as much as I know watch out for Vkool because there's no such authorized dealer in malaysia and that's why I only consider for Huper, 3M and Llumar (overprice but got sexy salesgirl at Puchong branch brows.gif )

Toyota tint for their cars are already factory fitted (for certain models only, included in the price, not xtra charge)

Also warranty by Toyota, there is a warranty book also for the tinting.

Kolik jz bought Camry Hybrid.

Toyota premium security tint is factory fitted, it is by Ecotint, and warranty by Toyota there is a booklet of some sort for them. Works very well, but i prefer my tinted film to be darker as they are more comfortable when driving under the sun, reduces glare.

Anything else offered by SA and is not in the official option list of the car, is done outside. Sure kena rip off by SA.

My car came with the factory fitted tint as well. Even though it doesn't look dark, the heat reduction works really well
