oh it works with the pc ? NICE !!!

definitely gonna get it. So if the xbox die i can still watch it using PC thumbup.gif

But you must have an up to date PC, preferably one with at least 3Ghz cpu and a graphic card n lcd display that's HDCP compliant. Of coz there's a workaround for those without HDCP compliant gfx card n display. You just need to install AnyDVD HD to remove the AACS encryptions. tongue.gif

Err my PC is 2.8ghz, 512mb ram, and geforce 5200. Can ar ?

My display is a 27inch LCD thumbup.gif Sure no problem wan hehe
*
Gfx card geforce 5200? Ermm.... unsure.gif Tapi display 27"?!! Waweeee.... shocking.gif . Eh jap, tu lcdtv ke lcd monitor? tongue.gif Or perhaps u can try dload 1080p movie trailers from Apple's website then test play. See if your system can cope up. brows.gif

QUOTE(aegis`- @ Apr 2 2007, 07:05 PM)
what?
that hd dvd drive can just plug into my pc usb port?
mine is 7800gs and 2407 dell screen
that might work? oh yea 2gig ram
*
If i'm not mistaken, your gfx card is not HDCP compliant. U might wanna try install PowerDVD 7.3 and check you system 1st. But that's just a small issue, u can still play with the help of AnyDVD HD utility. Should be no probs. rclxms.gif

Last time i tried playing 720p/1080i movies, it didnt play that well, like tersekat-sekat. Tak smooth langsung. Not sure whether it's the memory or the graphic card. Maybe it's time to upgrade  wink.gif

Graphic card la tu kot.... cpu n gfx card plays a big role in HD movie playback. tongue.gif

Typical MS in buying exclusivity rights over competing formats. doh.gif I'm guessing in the near future they'd buy exclusive rights from FOX next? Why? Well since FOX has acquired the rights for Halo Movie, and at the moment it's supporting BD exclusively. Seeing a major blockbuster movie based on a hit Xbox game but are not playable on hddvd and xbox360 would seem abit off. laugh.gif

Dude...no one owns Halo rite..thats the truth..let me quote the debate about the issue from AVS forum:
Weird, the news i've read about FOX acquaring the rights was more recent then any of the links you've provided. It was updated on June 23rd according to one fansite, but then again i'm not really sure if it's really confirmed. Just had a feeling it would still go with FOX anyway if the film is still on. whistling.gif

Just quoted the link for that debate..maybe a new link regarding that matter will help in this issue....a good resource to be posted at avs forum....since all of them have come to conclude that no one earn the right for Halo movie... whistling.gif

Eh link tak kuar plak. tongue.gif Should be http://www.halothemovie.org/. Even imdb mentions the same. nod.gif

So whatever Sony does is taktik kotor and whatever MS does is good for the consumers? rclxub.gif I seriously feel appaled by certain fanboys who felt proud when they get exclusives, where else certain group of ppl have been denied of choices just bcoz some studios decide to support one format instead of two. Not everyone can afford both HD formats. It's not just about which format is more superior or cheaper, it's about choices, and damn it every consumers have their rights to choose whichever format they believe in. That's why i don't see anything lame about if a consumer still decide to stick to plain old DVD instead of any of the HD formats, coz the format wars at the moment confuses most consumers even more than before. doh.gif yawn.gif

Im just order a Xbox HD-DVD drive for use on PC with 8800GTS and C2D E6700.. Do u it will not smooth playing in some scene as 8800GTS has no Purevideo HD? Anyone using almost same configuration?
*
I use an AMD64 X2 3800+ with 8800GTS as well. Don't worry it's still smooth as the 8800GTS does indeed has Purevideo HD, just not as fully assisted as the 8500/8600 series. I've tried hddvd playback using PowerDVD Deluxe 7.3 and the only issue u might encounter is the stuttering sound during menu access. Other than that, movie playback is smooth. nod.gif

i am afraid that the hidef will die out because if HD DVD becomes the value added feature for DVD. There are ONLY to replicators of BD50 at the moment. BD is not ready for prime time!

WB bit the candy dangling infront of them. Well after FOX bit theirs biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

People DO NOT held off hidef purchase because of the format war. It is because of the high price. DVD sales shrink is because there are plenty of other movie watching options. such as digital download. And people especially the US people no longer trust media (TV) as they used to. This affected their purchase of media (DVD included).

and if Toshiba and MS is adamant to keep HD DVD as the replacement for DVD. They will no doubt in mind, get Disney and Liongs Gate to be HD DVD exclusive by all means! The FOX ship has sailed the BD way.

I blame Toshiba and MS for being over confident on warner bros !!  vmad.gif  vmad.gif

smile.gif

And despite all that sales of BD movies far outsells HDDVD at a ratio of at least 2:1. I'm sure there'll be more BD replicators over time. tongue.gif

Yeah i Dont see why you want to trust the media in order to Buy DVDs. And vice versa.

You alleged BD players are expensive still majority favour BD.

Regarding 1080i/1080p, u said people dont need it and just waste of money. Are you in the correct forum, i think u should be in SD DVD forum. We are here talking HIGH DEFINITION

And I dont want to be harsh to you, you might be just kid, but let me tell you a little secret - HD DVD just didnt sell well although they had Transformers  and Bourne Ultimatum on their side. They just didnt sell that well with their much cheaper HDDVD players compared to more EXPENSIVE BD player. '300' a dual format title had been out-blued by BD. The only good thing abt HDDVD are the features (PIP, extras, interactive, etc.) and cheaper players. And still they are out-blued. You have to understand, all business no matter what, are in to make money. Consumers and the industry wants a viable format to have a long life span for their investments.

If you could start to think why is this happening.... All your worries and anxiety right now is soothed

Cool down bro, by now i'm sure u would've known g5sim's antics. Everyone in this forum does, it's just not worth arguing really. laugh.gif
