I wonder how all this will impact their Jerun project. CPP otw, drilling to commence after that. Will they have any money to pay all this.

I think SapuraOMV isn’t affected by Sapura’s financial mess.

I think the Sapura case had gone out of control.

Initially maybe PNB would still wanna save them but now that things have gone everywhere, news is everywhere, and too much political parties starting to get involved in this. Too risky for PNB to give lifeline now..

SapuraOMV should not be affected but i am wondering if Sapura Drilling will. Payment from their drilling division is quite on time and no outstanding issue so far unlike other Sapura..

Anyone have any info on the Cameia-Golfinho project by TotalEnergies in Anglo? Last I know, 3 Malaysia FPSO contractors submitted FEED - Yinson, Bumi Armada and MISC. Any update on this?

The "real" situation among their staff is even more dire. Even if there's govt bailout by current govt / former PM, the reputation amongst its workers and vendors are gone.
Many vendors are struggling for prolonged periods and some are spending more money on legal advise (Some companies are less than 30 employees).

for MISC no.
They are paying quite well previously.

Maybe you are paid well. tongue.gif tongue.gif
Have a few went there from underpaid companies and got a good raise

Note their current project is moving from engineering and procruement to construction phase.

I wonder how this company even operate? Really bad image for our O&G industry

work with the HUC division back in 2013-2017, during that time no issue on finances, able to complete all project within schedules, get bonuses to range from company and project bonus. after the fuel price fiasco in 2016, they never seem to get back as per before.

Petronas awards PSCs for five blocks, Sapura OMV among recipients

PETRONAS  has awarded Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for five offshore exploration blocks, namely SB412, 2W and X located off the coast of Sabah, and SK439/SK440 located off the coast of Sarawak.

The PSC signing ceremony took place yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre which had been awarded in the Malaysia Bid Round (MBR) 2021.

Block SB412 in Sabah was signed between Petronas, PTTEP HK Offshore Limited and SapuraOMV Upstream (M) Sdn Bhd, while the PSCs for ultra-deepwater Blocks 2W and X were signed between Petronas, Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd., Shell Sabah Selatan Sdn Bhd and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

The PSC for Sarawak’s Block SK439/SK440 was signed between Petronas, Sarawak Shell Berhad and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production Sdn Bhd.

The state oil firm senior VP of Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), Mohamed Firouz Asnan who signed the PSCs on behalf of the company said that the newly signed PSCs would attract a capital commitment of about RM600 million in exploration activities in Malaysia, reflecting the attractiveness of Malaysia’s hydrocarbon resources potential.

“The reduction in global exploration drilling over the past two years has pressured the industry to resolve current supply shortages. As global economies have started to recover post-pandemic, the industry needs to ensure exploration activities continue to sustain production,” he said in a statement today.

“Petronas is committed to reducing carbon emissions from our operations with technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage. We look forward to working together with our partners to provide safe and reliable energy to the market.”

In a separate statement, SapuraOMV CEO Muhammad Zamri Jusoh said, ‘This new PSC provides us the impetus to rejuvenate our exploration efforts in Malaysia. This will augment our already successful exploration, development and production track record and further support our long- term growth strategy.”

“We are also excited to commence this new partnership with PTTEP, Thailand’s national petroleum exploration and production company, as we build long lasting and mutually beneficial collaboration.”

MBR is an annual Malaysia licensing round hosted by MPM which offers investors diverse upstream opportunities, including exploration acreages, discovered resource opportunities and late life producing assets. The MBR 2022, themed “Your Advantaged Energy is Here”, was launched on 27 January, offering 14 exploration blocks, six clusters of Discovered Resource Opportunities and one Late Life Asset cluster.

Petronas through MPM, manages petroleum arrangements in Malaysia and provides stewardship on upstream petroleum activities. –TMR

the problematic is Sapura the contractors.

SapuraOMV is an operator. OMV is an Austrian company, they are doing OK.

Cannot be considered as 1 umbrella

As theres probity / compliance issues on this particular subject. Only SOMV / SEB has this potential conflict but it was managed properly.
