Gonna go on a trip to Sabah Parks and climb Mount Kinabalu for holiday, was thinking of bringing my Dji Spark along. I'm not sure if I can fly a drone in Sabah Parks so I called up their office to clarify.
Then the person in charge told me you can't fly a drone in Sabah Parks vicinity without giving me a proper reason which got me really annoyed.

Own a drone but can't fly it anywhere

can u take a deep breath ,thinking a moment about national secrets and securities, local sensitivity about daily life been record and displayed worldwide and now space station up there can view life show online? should i say space wide now?

u asked directly to their office off couse la they straight telling u w/o beat around the bush.

If u wanna now what clause, what act been use, what paragraph , so on so forth, then they tell u "u read yr self". what's more annoying.

(damn shutter bugger, trigger-happy bugger, 1st world problem). after all u just a private drone controller. not some scientists to do field work.

I don't mind reading all the info online myself, but the funny parts are there is no info that state you can't fly a drone in Sabah Parks, in fact I saw people are filming with bigger drone than mine and is all over the internet.
At least I have the courtesy to call them up to clarify.

how to protect integrity of info/s if any one can access. And internet is not so intelligent when ask specifically "info that state you can't fly a drone in Sabah Parks". U have to look for general info about filming/capturing in sensitive area, and work up from there. U said u saw ppl filming with bigger drone then U, i aldy state in my previous post; i quote again "after all u just a private drone controller".

All of film crew/s mmbr ardy have 1 or 2 hour/s or days roll-call/prep on Do's and Don't beforehand. equipment check, papers signage ceremony. Insurance, escorts and securities.

Could you please stop using such abrasive and insolent tone when you are writing? You tend to have problem with just expecting people to assume how things to be done and expect people to assume and work things in their head and follow. If there is no info online we write them email, we call them up and ask and plead for approval. If fly with conditions that's fine we obey, if not then we don't fly, simple as that.

First of all why do you assume people with bigger drone are necessary from film that has bunch of crew member working on, do you even look at their videos? What's is wrong with being a lone drone controller and with crews? The reason that drones are prohibited are mainly, privacy, security, sound disruption to wildlife and people around that area.

Being part of a big filming crew or not doesn't give you the privilege to fly drone everywhere.

For your info Sabah Parks doesn't allow drone filming whether you are private controller or with bunch of crew members, especially for commercial shots unless with special permission granted. (I didn't make this up, I called them up and that's what they reply me).

Right now all i'm think is drill hard and drill permanently to any1's sense, that's why i choose word that sound like that to u. The problem i have particularly with 1st post of yrs was , u call them, they answered, but the answered was not properly to u or , i quote again yr words

U do call up cos no info couldn't been found yrself, but u are annoyed by properly answer to u. How do they knew the proper answer to every person. In their book it the answer to such inquiry alright. We cannot make them 1 answer to cater that person, and another answer to cater this person. It a same inquiry.

Rules are rules. But you still can capture nice view of mount Kinabalu from Kundasang town. Kundasang can get very windy sometimes, hopefully Spark can handle em well.

As I know Malaysia doesn't have laws to stop using drone on public area. Ofcoz if you try to fly drone over government facilities, sensitive area and military zone then you need permission.
