The newest Famitsu has some information on Metal Gear Solid 4, it states:

ドレビン...武器に登録されたID認証システムを解除し、新たに使用できるようにする

・その他メリル、ジョニー、ジョナサン、エド、ヘイブン・トルーパーなどを紹介
・スネークの周囲に表示されたリングはソレットリングと呼ばれ、周囲の気配
脅威を視覚化したもの。しゃがみ状態やホフク状態で静止したときに表示され
周囲の索敵などに効果を発揮する
・"ソリッド・アイ"というアイテムを装備することで、ベースラインマップと呼ばれる
