Agreed. Sometimes the price difference is not much but better to stick with good and reliable brand names.

Price of aircond not much difference nowadays.

You buy chapplang brand sure regret.

Go for Daikin or Panasonic or maybe Mitsubishi.

Get Haier, low price and good quality. The new York aircond from Johnson Controls is using Haier model rebadged to York.
Daikin is using the old York made in the OYL factory which was bought over by them. Its good enough but for the real Daikin you need to get the expensive ones using R32 gas.
Panasonic has many quality issues.
Mitsubishi Electric - is over-rated and expensive.

Panasonic - Very slow to cool down the room. Malfunction twice.
Daikin - Noisy fan, noisy outdoor unit. Blue LED ultra bright. Whole room light up at night!!
Samsung - Rattling louver and other parts, and slow to catch up if room suddenly got many people go in.

Is your Samsung the triangle type?

Mine is, works like a charm. Quiet and cools quickly. I like it more than Mitsubishi Electric.

Yes the triangle type. Even if I stop the swing, there is some rattling sound inside. When switch on the swing, rattling noise is louder.

Oh, mine has the rattling sound only when it starts, it'll be quiet after a few minutes. I figured it's no issue for me then.

But for cooling power, it's pretty good to me. Though, the other room with ME is bigger, but the ME is 1.5hp while the Samsung 1.0hp.

I like most how easy to clean the filter, directly remove it on top of it. I wonder why other airconds don't do this?

Actually normal AC just the same to be cleaned. Flip open the cover, and slide out the filter. In fact, if you decided to do a quick clean, normal AC are easier, cause once you flip open the cover, the filter will be front facing, just use the vacuum cleaner to suck out the dust. On the samsung, since it is top facing, my vacuum cleaner can't reach and not enough bend to reach it.

But I see on normal ac, the filter is filled up at the top side first, so for full clean, still gotta remove the entire filter.

I need to use ladder to access my AC anyway. If I'm lazy, I can just directly vacuum the top of the Samsung without even removing it.

Though I recently notice the LG ac is following Samsung's filter design too. If I need to change ac, I'd probably be interested in LG's mosquito inverter whatever the name, but LG not that many shops carry it hmm.gif
