As usual lah, initial cost when getting a new pet, can burn a hole in your pocket, but that's why research is important. If you can get all the info, and find all the stuffs needed for a suggie at a reasonable price, you and your suggie can definitely be happy smile.gif Basically it can range from RM350 above (including suggie).

As for the vitamin & calcium part, I'm not so sure, better let Hun handle that tongue.gif

Use travelling cages loh. Many websites have said that if you travel short term like a few days only, you can use a hamster cage as a travelling cage for them. Personally, I like the Flexarium better... you can get that at Pet Safari or Pets Wonderland petstores, RM100 can get the smallest one. Easy to assemble whenever you wanna use.

I'll definitely get it from u if i own it in future, and thanks for the price list that u have listed down..

jason_killer : I did travel with my Gollum in the pouch when we are in the car...then when check in hotel..I just let Gollum out roam around the hotel room......leave my smelly t shirt near the pouch and some food and water..... icon_idea.gif .... or you can buy those laundry basket.....foldable ones...i got mine from ACE hardware for RM 5 i think.....easy to carry around also....

Added on April 11, 2007, 3:15 pmKP: nice drawing.... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif the frame looks a bit like the cage i got...not too sure how much carrefour or giant selling that cabinet...might be cheaper to get there than getting the material yourself..... unless you are looking to have a smaller ones....

ColdFusionPower: will try to get picture with the door open....will need your advice if you have a more neater way of doing it...as i really don't like the current design..haha....a lot of section to buka to open the door.... hmm.gif hmm.gif

Here's some i found on the net of the frame you can look for....ikea one a bit expensive but wooden loh...should be more stable...as compared to the PVC tubes frame from the storage wardrobe cabinet....

CFP, those plastic covered cupboard are around RM50 above each, but the frames are not PVC tubes, they are steel and sooner or later they'll get rusty... As for the IKEA shelf, wood not recommended as they will absorb pee that will make cleaning difficult plus the suggies will chew on the wood which might be harmful to them.

I found a site where she has done her DIY cage using PVC tube frame, almost similar to the frame I sketched.

I have seen they have in pvc tubes before....abit fragile if it is being use for clothes hanging....but should be suitable as a cage.....will see if i spot any for sale around my area....

then again...maybe that's why they now use steel pipes because the pvc tubes not strong??? hmm.gif

Oh yeah, her website loading very difficult and I couldn't trackback when I wanted to get the address, tho I've copied some pix in my folder...

I think the J clip can find at the hardware store, mebbe gotta get the pix or cari sendiri lor... Or else the zip ties should be able to hold it as good as the J clip smile.gif

If you wanna make it sturdier, even using PVC tubes, as I've mentioned before, add two more side bars to the frame only.

i got few questions...

a. which is better, keep them single or in pair?

b. if kept single and later wanna get companion;
i. will the introduction be so difficult?
ii. which intro is better male to female or female to male?
iii. should the intro been done between same age/size or different age/size also can?

c. we can easily indentify the toilet spot of crawling animals like hamster, gerbils, rat and even rabbit (it hops not crawls... biggrin.gif ), so how can we do that on suggie (coz it climbs also), do they pee & poo all around the cage?

d. do they chew like nobody business like hamsters & gerbils?

tq... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif
