ah, thts y i rmb trying it wit my sony phone but my credit card doesnt automatically topup the card last time so in the end just use the normal pasmo card

Few years back, phones in Japan are from Sharp, Panasonic, Sony, etc - Japanese companies with their own eco system. So, they will definitely have this function. Now most already move out from cell phone business and even if they still continue like Sony, they will use Android. I still have my flip phoe from Japan 15 years ago. At that time it was state of the art that can do internet and colour as well!

When I was there, I actually used my CC a lot, except for maybe shops like yoshinoya/matsuya. I even used it in a convenience store. But then its a Japanese CC. smile.gif

both the same, just go into any jr station office n u can get ur refund d. dun really hv to purposely look for either 1. when u reach japan, just get the first one u see.
*
Have to be careful there....I thought the same as well initially. Then I found one pasmo card in my drawer. Went to Metro station to return it and he told me that I cannot do it in metro because I bought it from haneda airport keikyu railways. Dont even remember when I bought it! Hence I have to go back to haenda or Shinagawa to return and get the deposit.

Just keep it! Aren't you travelling to Japan anymore? ohmy.gif
I normally keep a few cards so that I can lend it to my friend when they came over for a visit. Since I am not there anymore I just return it back and get the cash. smile.gif Just keep one is enough for me.

Thanks Sweetpez.
I am wondering, can i also use the 7 days JR Pass in Osaka/Kyoto?
Or i need to purchase the ICOCA card for travelling in Osaka/Kyoto?
I tried looking into the transportation arrangment, but still blur blur about it.
JR Pass is the major transportation company and from the website, i understand it suppose to cover almost all the route.
Not sure, i need to study on this again.

JR or Japan Rail is the company (To be exact it was split up to a few companies). JR Pass is just one of those ticket package the offer.

Actually they do have but not as big as in Europe. In Roppongi hills they have it annually and sell alot of nice and expensive Christmas decorations from Germany.

i see...

the christmas markets in each european country has its own charm...
they sell mulled wine...wooden toys...various kinds of food...and of course decorations, and they have temporary stages built for singing and performance as well

but we will leave this europe topic to another thread...hehe
*
Its exactly the same of what happening in Roppongi and alot of variety of beer. What they dont have is the singing though as the place is a bit small. But its held outdoor with some tables, so you can drink and eat in the freezing cold!

You can fly as well. Lots of LCC in Japan. However if you add up the cost to/from airport might end up the same.

It is not make in where or don't take precaution.

Some electrical and electronic are means for international market, which they make it universal voltage 100-220v. Specially travelling device.

Household electrical item are mostly local voltage. Cause mainly static using and not transferring within country. Like TV, fridge, cooker etc.

We still need to check the voltage if want to buy electrical item.

In japan, electrical item sell in Tax free shop are mainly 220V. They aim for the china tourist.
*
You are absolutely correct. Stuff made are base on the product specification and not where it is made. If a product can only support 110V but the charger does 220V only, then of course there is a problem. Normally the product will have the information of what voltage it supports.

When I was still in Tokyo, I think Panasonic was selling a hair dryer where you can switch between 110V and 220V so you can bring it to most part of the world.. But that is one damn expensive hair dryer.

Gotemba is a very big outlet. If you not a shopping kaki, That is ok. Some is cheap. Nike, addidas, asics. 2hr is definitely not enough if you're shopping kaki. Trust me, been to many outlet.

Went to gotemba outlet 2week ago. Arrive late and only have 2hr shop. Good for me, as to restrict the girl from long hr shop. They complain.  biggrin.gif

If I were to go to outlet shopping it will definitely for a day. Can just go to Tokyo Station, take a 45 mins bus ride to Kisarazu and basically spend a day there.

Do note that what they sell in outlet is normally the latest trend. Some even sell products that does not pass QC like G-Shock. If you dont mind then outlet is normally cheaper.

Refund? I don't want to go through the trouble of calling the operator that never picks up, or the CS that never replies or ask for multiple things.
Not worth my time.

But you see, if you for the aisle seat and is happy about it, but a family man asked to swap seat to sit with his child and wife, and his seat is the middle one. How? You're being seated somewhere you dislike and have to endure 7 hours of long flight. if you reject, that seems kinda inconsiderate coz the mum and child is at one side. See what I mean? It's terrible, so anyhow, don't ask. It's budget airline so either pay or suck it up thumbsup.gif
Yeah, imagine you got on the plane and expect to have a seat, to find a stranger on your seat. And he basically just stared at me loll. Before I could ask, luckily the air stewardess came and explain the situation. However it wasn't pleasant because who would want to encounter this type of situation?

Thanks ~C.W.S~ at least i'm not the only one who thinks the same.
*
Its not only cheap flight. I just booked SIA for a family trip and when I go to the select seat screen, all seat are not available!. Only the emergency seat are available for selection with a cost. However I cannot book that as its not for children.....

Anyway off topic here.... smile.gif

Nay la, why be a B about it laugh.gif i was really annoyed, but seeing that they have kids, I just let it go. If the kids make noise and want their dad, the whole plane will suffer. Did this for the family and the greater good anyway sweat.gif although yes, why must it be me who give up the seat? There are other people on the plane too -___- goodness, attribute it to bad luck then.
Ada selection. Just bought my SIA ticket last month.
Still, no worries coz if you check in together, i'm sure you'll be placed together. That's why it's best to check-in earlier when more seats are available biggrin.gif
*
Called them up just now. They just open 50% of the seat for selection and since all selected none available. 4 days b4 departure, they will open the rest........no idea why!

That's abit odd. But wait, their emergency seats are up for Sale?? That is weird. How much to top up?
*
It cost HKD468.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Nov 10 2017, 01:26 PM)
SIA fake-blocks a lot of seats on their seat map and then releases them like X days before the flight. But anyway if a flight is really super full and everyone else already booked their seats then can’t be helped also 🤣
*
Yeah, seems like that. However I managed to reserve seats for my return flight. Must be some logic behind it since they dont charge for seat booking

Check Klook's T&C when you buy. Every attraction/ package is different. Some require you to provide hard copy of the voucher, some only need to see your e-voucher. But if you're not sure, for safety sake just print them although this is less environmentally friendly.
*
Klook is pretty good actually. I rented a portable wifi to Japan for 3 days and it only cost me HKD29!. This is pickup in HK airport though. Connection was great as it uses Softbank network and I am just in the city.
