yeap becoz from shinjuku to chofu station u will be taking keio line express during that time, express line only stop at certain station so u have to get down and switch to normal line and usually is on the same platform same direction, not the opposite, just wait for the next normal line train.
between, make sure u look at the train sign near the door whenever u board the train. coz the same line will have express, limited express, and normal but they all have different stop. safest would be to take the normal but slower so u wont miss ur stop easily
noted, very informative. if I still go wrong means I'm idiot. lol

Just like
chinti said, Train system in Japan can be confusing since there are 4 types of train sharing the same track! Therefore, it's best to stick to schedule timing (very important) and also take note of the train type mentioned as below.
Local (普通) (kakueki-teisha or futsu-densha) – stops at every station.
Rapid (快速) (kaisoku) – skips some stations.
Express (急行) (kyuko) – skips a lot more stations. The fee for these trains is higher than the local/rapid trains.
Limited Express (特急) (tokkyu) – only stops at major stations. Also requires an extra fare.
Your best bet is to stick to only the local and rapid trains (though if you’re riding rapid, make sure the train stops at the station you want to go to). Express and limited express trains can be tricky, though if you are going further out of the metropolitan area (or going into central Tokyo from far away), these might be better options lest you find yourself on the train for 2 plus hours.
When I was first time in Japan, I just simply board any incoming train without checking it properly. So end up 3 stations away from destination point. But it was a good one, since the wrong destination is still quite a place to walk around and explore.

noted, very informative. I should go for "Local (普通) (kakueki-teisha or futsu-densha) – stops at every station." and slowly take my time, not a rushie holiday..

Today's rate in
MV is 37.75. I am changing again for 2nd round.
Speaking of
naijnaij's navigation, you can use
sweet_pez recommendation. Remember some Japanese words that would be useful !
I carry around a small note and wrote down those japanese words. I prepared Google Translate with Japanese translation offline download. So you translate Eng <-> Japanese without the need of data (useful) when Wi-Fi fails you.
As a traveler in Japan, always check schedule from time to time to avoid missing out the timeline. Since Japan itself is very time-management, therefore you may have to adjust to it.
Try to prepare Plan B in case you miss the train or unable to go certain places due to time constraint.
My plans in Japan isn't entirely the same as my ideal itinerary, but close enough to make it.

that's awesome price! I still needs to change mine.
