Ok, thanks. I might end up going there in 2nd week of November, that's why I was thinking it might end up getting quite cold. I suppose I can just bring long john or extra shirt for just-in-case. Do you think the weather during November is ok to go up? I saw reviews say can get foggy during autumn. Since it's not cheap to go through the route, it would really suck if kena bad weather.
*
If you going by 2nd week of November, you need thicker jacket. 70% you will saw snow at Murodo & Kurobe Dam. Scenic view will be yellow tree + snow

I saw these 2.
Is this the additional fare that I have to add for the reserved seat?
[attachmentid=9025765]

While this one here consider as local train?
[attachmentid=9025764]
*
Yes Normal Train, but Express Type. It will stop at Big Station only.
Normal Train which similar like our KTM Commuter. Buy Train ticket and board the train. Find any empty seat, If seat all full, you need standing all the way.

Another one was Limited Express Train, Traveler speed normally at 120km/h while normal train just 60km/h. Stop at Major Station only.

[[Because the Limited Express train didn't stop at Kintetsunara Station, So you have to get down at Yamat Osaidai Station first. thne change to normal train / normal train "Express" to Kintetsunara Station]]

Limited Express normally have 4 Coach, 1 1st Class , 2 Reserve Seat Coach, 1 Non Reserve Seat Coach. (JR Train)
If you buy Train Ticket only, you can board the Train but only limited at non reserve seat coach. If coach seat is full, you need standing all the way. Even you found seat, as long you leave your seat, someone will take over it.

Kansai Thru Pass not covered Kintetsu Limited Express. You have to top up money for train ticket and reserve seat.
Kintetsu limited express require all passenger must buy reserve seat ticket.

So I can say, I can use Kansai Thru Pass as long as I avoid riding Kintetsu Limited Express Train if I dont want to pay another additional fare. Correct?

Fuhh....safe! I was thinking to give up on KTP and use Kansai Area Pass instead because of this confusion rclxub.gif
THis is how I intend to use the pass
Day 1 - Kyoto > Nara > Himeji > Kobe > Osaka
Day 2 - Gundam Square > Osaka Castle > Den Den Town area
-Skip-
Day 3 - Osaka > Kansai Aiport

*
Yes
kansai Thru Pass can Ride Kintetsu Normal Train as long not Limited Express Train.

Yeahhhhh. It's partially work, so not very free-and-easy. It's a tour, and we're going up to Mito and Yamagata from Tokyo, then back using Shinkansen. Its an unexplored territory for me but from what I noticed and shared by the tour, Yamagata is really quiet and nothing much to do.

But its okay, its still Japan hahahahahaa and when else can you enjoy staying in 4 Star Hotel @ Japan? #cantaffordonmyown #notgonnacomplain  biggrin.gif
*
Yamagata got alot thing to do. But you havent discover it yet.

Hi... any sifu already try sunrise izumo?
*
Yes.
Japan all Sleeper train I already try.
If you want to try better experience it fast, because it going to phase out one by one.

If you buy high end sleeper compartment, It will give you shower card. Using this shower card to activated shower system, 15 minute usage time, once time up, system will deactivated, water and light will be out. Every good experience, Shower against time!!

thanks.. plan to try it on this November.. normally if use jr pass can use sunrise izumo train right?

JR Rail Pass plus 9500 yen for Single Twin room. This means 1 room 2 bed, you maybe share room with stranger.

Or 17000 for single room

If JR rail pass without top up are Shinobi Room, basically are sleep on floor. Very hard wood floor.

a lot of chinese working in japan, u go ginza pretty much every shop got at least 1 tht can speak mandarin
*
One small correction here. They are Japanese which taking mandarin language course.
Because of China tourist big spending at Japan, everyone want to earn China tourist money.

Working at Japan are big competitive, have to keep on upgrade your self, learning another language will secure your place in company. Mandarin & Arabic language course are most popular in Japan now.

Ain't much to do in Nagoya, those are the popular/ top places ady biggrin.gif if you like cars, check out the Toyota Automobile Museum. Atsuta Jingu is also worth a visit, its bigger than Osu Kannon temple and there's a popular kishimen there.

Anyway for food, I'd recommend you try Nagoya's specialty - Misokatsu. Its chicken katsu but addon Nagoya's red miso sauce. It's not bad, I enjoyed it although a little salty.

Recommended place:

Yabaton Honten (the HQ/ main shop)
3-6-18 Osu, Nakaku, Nagoya 460-0011, Aichi Prefecture
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00-21:00
Cost: 1,000-2,000yen

Other Nagoya specialty: Tebasaki (fried chicken wing) & misonikomi udon. If you have the time, try them.
*
Yabaton are serving Pork as their specialty miso katsu. 90% of thier menu are pork. If I remember correctly, they no serving chicken.

Just a suggestion. Is it possible to add a compilation list for each region on the first post? Could include blog, articles or even youtube. Youtube got whole lot of it on its own.
But would be better if it's filtered to avoid misinformation. It's kinda like a semi-spoon feed, but it's useful to record our recommendations for our next trips!
For example..
I used to do this when I was Thread Starter. Since I no longer, I withdraw everything away already.
I always wish someone can continue doing it. Maybe Chinti can do this way on Page 1. I saw Chinti got passion about this thread.

Wow that's really interesting. I was only at the city most of the time and one day at Kiso Valley. Where else in Nagoya do you recommend to visit? Especially places that are less touristy.
*
Inuyama , Expo Memorial Park + Linimo Train. I also basically get off every station in Nagoya. Explore every metro / train station in Nagoya, finding any interest food or stuff

Issit funny if I take the Shinkansen from osaka to say, kyoto and then without going down to kyoto come back to osaka? laugh.gif cause I have no plans to bring them anywhere else other than Osaka.

It will be 15 minute journey only and it will cost you 2000 Yen per pax per way .

I recently go South Korea. Found one interest thing. Because South Korea and Japan are under protection of US. The currency are very similar.

1 USD = 100 Yen = 1000 Won

After found this formula. It was easy for me doing exchange rate calculation.

LOL......
