You dare to mess around changing the fan supplied by Bitmain? You may burn out the 4 hashboards if the cooling performance of OEM fans is below par.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Jul 8 2017, 04:44 PM) I quote raynman below.... QUOTE(raynman @ Jul 7 2017, 05:40 PM) Those who buy from Bitmain directly to host the L3+ in their home have never heard an ASIC miner in operation. Not only the damn noise. Who are you going to call for help if there is a component failure in the L3+, even if it is within the 180-day warranty period? Do you know how to diagnose what the problem is, so that the correct spare part can be ordered form Bitmain in Beijing. How long will the spare part take to ship and arrive at your house. Do you know the proper procedure to install the spare part? What if after installing, the L3+ fails to power up? There are so many unknowns. By subscribing to GigaWatt we can rest assured that if there is any component breakdown with our L3+, there are professional engineers with ready spare parts in-house to sort out the problem with minimum downtime. This is what we are paying the $0.005 per KwH maintenance fee for. Peace of mind. |

QUOTE(GreenSamurai @ Jul 8 2017, 05:39 PM) Ok I believe this has gone on long enough. It's fine if you have our own opinion on whatever type of mining that you are invested in but to invade another thread to prove your point is where the line has to be drawn. Everywhere has their own reasons on what type of investments they choose to invest in. For cloud mining investors, you already have your own dedicated thread. if your sole purpose to post here is to argue why cloud mining is better then by all means do so in your own thread. We do not need such things here. And who are you to decide what can or cannot be discussed here as long as it is mining hardware?Who died and made you King? If the threadstarter himself is actively engaging in a discussion about the Antminer L3+, what right do you have to say that "this has gone on long enough"? ![]() This post has been edited by denimblue: Jul 8 2017, 06:53 PM |

QUOTE(zamans98 @ Jul 8 2017, 09:00 PM) No problem, GigaWatt can be discussed here. It's hybrid, not a cloud mining. Thank you, Sir, for coming out to clear the air. Everyone have their own capacity of time, money etc. So to each of us, all options have been Weighted into before a decision was made. For some, solo mining, some pool mining, some choose cloud minng, some GigaWatt style, some just reading.. There are many different types and scenarios. Saying yours the best is indifference to them. We certainly don't want any self-appointed forum Nazi running loose here. |

All home-based miners, please take note of the rising electricity tariffs next year.
![]() KUALA LUMPUR: The next electricity tariff revision for Peninsular Malaysia will be in January next year. The Government had earlier agreed to maintain the power tariff rebate of 1.52 sen/kWh from July 1 to Dec 30 this year. Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang said the revision was being undertaken by the Energy Commission under the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) policy every six months. “The latest was for January to June 2017. But on June 30, the Government agreed to spend RM1.303bil to cover the rising cost of fuel and electricity supply generation in the peninsula from July to December this year,” he said in an interview on Bernama. Also present was Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) vice-president (Regulatory Economics and Planning) Datuk Roslina Zainal. |

It is awfully quiet in here.
Where have all the home-based GPU miners gone? But at least ASIC miners are filling in the void. |
