Hi guys, actually I'm planning to buy civic fc in the future but just need to get some advice from the current owners. (Before posting this I have read the posts regarding the info about the car (problems..etc)

Which one is better? 1.8 or 1.5T? After reading the comments in the forum and fb group I saw most of the owners suggest 1.5 because of more power. But how is the cost of maintaining a turbo car? (Because never have exposure to turbo car before) From SA they just said the amount of time you need to service the car is more than NA car because of the turbo system, ofcourse the cost of maintain will be higher.

What I'm worrying is the problem when the turbo got problem. Although it is covered by Honda Malaysia for 5 years, if there is problem will they fix them properly? And what is the cost of changing the turbo if it is spoiled? (Coz I heard SA said if turbo spoiled=car is not working=engine got problem, is it true?) What I concern is when the turbo spoil after 5 years, which is out of warranty (Because I don't think I will change the car so fast within 5 years), and what will the cost be to fix the problem?

Sorry for asking so much because this will be my first Honda and also Turbo car, and I also don't know the durability of turbo cars, ofcourse it depends on the driver's driving style also. And this is the first turbo civic in Malaysia and it is still new in the country, just need some advice from existing owners especially the 1.5T owners.

Oh I see...the maintenance fees is ok for me too...Just worrying what will happen after out of warranty only. I won't touch anything related to engine or wiring stuff, but maybe bodykit and sports rim, it won't void warranty right?
And also may I know if this engine is new or it has been using by other country for years?

Oic....because when I ask SA they didn't talk much about it, I am not sure if they don't know or not willing to tell about it that's why I'm asking here for the advice. BTW thanks for the info!

I visited quite a few Honda showrooms before getting my Civic and I can tell you Honda SA have very little knowledge of the product they're selling. I had to educate them each time. Most of the time they just blurt things out to satisfy the buyer but it's not necessarily true. Best place to ask for real feedback is forums like this. The folks here are quite open about their experiences. 

Hoping between City and Civic, City is much lighter at any speed.
However, it is quite different and took few drives for me to get used to on the Civic.

From default steering wheel position (straight / center), to completely steer to left most or right most:
* City: 1 3/4 turn
* Civic: 1 1/5 turn

Even ignoring the different in mass, wheel base, etc., just the same steering motion on 2 cars would be quite distinct.
For example, avoiding pot holes, by habit / instinct, one would find the civic somewhat too responsive to the extent "over sensitive"... So, I'm guessing not that it's light, it's rather its shorten turn ratio.

Sadly his engine/gearbox rosak 2 weeks ago.
Was told yesterday it was engine valve body faulty.
Awaiting parts to fix.

Do you have any information on this. I've been trying to find out more about this...like what's the variance in the ratio. It would help me explain why sometimes when I turn the steering wheel fast, like during U-Turn or in car parks, It reaches the end faster than when I turn the steering slow. It could all just be a placebo and just me not being used to the steering on this car though.

I was informed that turbo charge engine will have shorter life vs NA, and my mechanic also told me that turbo engine mostly will get engine oil leakage. Some told me that the way to maintain turbo engine is different with NA engine.

I am sure all the Sifus here have been study in depth on this topic. I appreciate if any of you could share your view.

I have driven F30 for 6years now. No issues but just maintenance on high side in terms of overall. As for normal service, we follow BSRI in the system which is roughly 15k per service. So far no issues with engine.

We also have Polo 1.2TSI which is almost 5 years d. No Issues as well in terms of maintaining turbo engine. But usual la.. one or twice the gear didn't wanna shift up.

Compare the Polo vs Civic VTEC turbo specifically during low RPM rev up on more sloppy road, the civic turbo its more smooth which my polo will have a quite frequent wheel spin and vibration, like jerking..

ya.. we have to get it tow back to SC and get "service update". After no issues d but still sometimes the car is abit jerky when turbo kick in and also wheel spin.

Since when the car has DCT , i thought its a CVT

Hey guys, how do you temporary turn off the interior sensor? Happen a few times to me where I'm pumping gas with key in pocket..but there's someone in the car and the alarm went off (damn soft and non alarm-ish sounding..). 1st time it happen i was looking around like an idiot wondering what sound was that

When I collected the car, I think it was ok.

Hi guys. Normally if I don't click 'OK' on the HU when first turning on the car, the HU will display something like a 'screen saver', only showing the time and date. However, the date is incorrect. Any idea how to change it?

I can't find any date-related info in the manual.
