Once you play online you wont go back to single player. It extremely fun playing with real people altough they may not be very good...Geting to know new players and seeing the really good players in action is always great.

sigh hmm.gif Alrite so here goes:

World In Conflict is something like a real time tactical strategy game where you control units from a single role like-
Armour(tanks)
Air(Hellicopters)
Support(Repairs, Artilerry, Anti Air)
Infantry(well defferent types of infantry squad)

So at the start of the match you select what role you want to play and you are given Reinforcement Points(2000) and using that point you choose which units you want to buy. After that you select where you want those units to de drop in the map and when game start a big plane will drop it where you want it to drop. So there is no resource management. You get the points refunded if your units/unit get destroyed meaning you can select new units and just fly them to the battlefield.

Because you are limited with the max points you can only have a certain amount of units(not a lot of units). Each role has its own strength and weakness so that means you will have to work together with other players to do well. This game is about 8vs8 online multiplayer. So this makes it a very combat focused game where you really have to fight it out smartly and with good team work from your side to do well.

Its a damn fun game to play with other people and friends and you can use your mic or in game chat or even simpler(but effectively) 'q' command to mark the map with any requests.

Feel to ask any question about anything you are unclear about or you would like more detailed information. rclxm9.gif Just had some pretty good games... icon_rolleyes.gif

It's frustrating if you're playing with noob teammates. With a good team, you'll enjoy the whole game.

No its not its fun that you can lead the game or turn the tide by your self, if u do not like the team then form your own clan.

Dude, you are like to whine about everything. You whine about game demos which are not the full games yet. You like to whine about games graphics even though some people like me don't even care. Some of us even don't have the most decent rigs at all. Now you're whining about XD stuff? Heck, if you want me to whine, I would like to whine about your exaggerating images of those games for windows. rolleyes.gif

Love the game so much after installing new catalyst 7.10 driver ..

can maximize everything in DX9 (running XP SP2)..

too bad the AA just doesn't works .. lots of broken texture ..

so turn it off and with just 16AF and Full Adaptive Aliasing.. the graphic works brilliantly... especially the HDR effects .. could blinds eye..

BTW they have released the Movie Maker Camera tool. Actually they didnt really release it as its included in WiC. They released the mnual which you and enable it and teaches you how to use it...quite cool now you can make your own cold war movie...

Added on October 23, 2007, 12:36 amThey have released an early fix list of the next update.

Preliminary Update 2 Notes

World in Conflict Update
Update #002

This is the second update for World in Conflict, primarily adding new functionality for server administration, updates to Massgate and fixes to various performance and stability issues.

New features:

- Several new Admin Commands have been added to give Server Admins increased control. For details on each of the individual commands and how to use them, please visit our forums at www.massgate.net.

- A time delay of 20 seconds has been added between Assault rounds.

- Clan officers can now invite other players to the clan, as well as kick Grunts.

- A successful map vote will now change the map instantly.

- Two new permanent chat rooms have been added to Massgate for clan war and few player mode matters.

- Players should now get an in-game notification when receiving an "Instant Message".

Units and balancing:

- The cost for the "Heavy Air Support" Tactical Aid has been reduced from 30/50/70 to 25/45/65.

- Score from repairing your own non-repair units has been reduced by 50%.

Bug fixes:

- Fixed a crash that could occur directly after map load (on systems not supporting Pixel Shader 2.0). Was released on the forums as a Hotfix.

- Fixed crashes that could occur on localized versions (languages other than English).

- "Solo VOIP" (to specific player(s)) checkbox now stays enabled when exiting score sheet.

- Players who experience occasional freezes/lockups can now try to append "-stabilityfactor 10" (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut. It can also be toggled in the console (in-game) by typing StabilityFactor 10. The number 10 can be decreased or increased if users want to experiment (StabilityFactor 0 turns the feature off).

- The game now defaults to full Field-of-View for Widescreen resolutions (such as 16:9). The widescreen Field-of-View from Update 1 can be used by appending "-widescreenscale" (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut.

- Entering the Mega-Map no longer resets changes to the camera settings.

- Better feedback to players that are moved to the other team as a result of "Team Auto-Balance".

- Players should no longer experience disconnects when selecting a role that has already reached its cap.

- Players should no longer experience disconnects when buying more units than they had credits for. This could occur if a player "resupplied" and then ordered more troops before the server had responded.

- Players should no longer experience disconnects when ordering more Tactical Aid weapons than they could afford. This could happen if a player ordered two different Tactical Aid weapons before the server responded.

- Added Dynamic Lag Margin, activated by appending "-lagmargin" (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut. This increases the lag margin to a maximum of 0.45 at packet loss / variation in ping.

- Updated the NATO heavy helicopter texture.

The release date for Update 2 has not yet been set. Stay tuned for more details!
