dont think so. coz current gen not many or any games region locked their disc or servers for mp. i bought a few R2 games can easily group up with my R3 disc friends & you still get matchmake with SEA based players.
Sooo many time already I said this to my friend or random netizen. For console players your disc region doesnt dictate which server you are in. you ISP(TM, Maxis, etc) does. unless they the dev says otherwise(1st time notice this is for Splatoon 2 for Splatfest only. JP & Euro have their own) or there's no server available to use. they will reroute the closest to your ISP.

it aint pre 2000. where online gaming is niche market. my experience in X360, X1, PS4 & Switch they all use the same algorithm for matchmaking online. Even on PC is also the same but you can choose which servers.

Yeah, but don't think you'll get any of the Beta rewards if you played it on a different region account.

Sorry if this should not be posted here. but i found it in reddit. Guides for beginner.

Greatsword: The heavy weapon. It specializes in doing single large hits - and I really mean single large hits. You only need to know one attack (the draw charge). While it has a slow movement speed when unsheathed, in reality you're going to sheathe again almost immediately after an attack (if you're familiar with the concept of iaijutsu, the weapon is like that). It's possibly the least disruptive weapon in multiplayer, and is known for being consistently one of the most powerful weapons in the game in the hands of experienced players. Don't try to do combos with it. This weapon really has no weaknesses.

Longsword: Has a mix of katana-type and Western-style sword weapons. This is one of the hardest weapons in the game to use effectively, since it has a gauge mechanism that demands that you play very aggressively in order to do decent damage (you need to be able to maintain your red gauge). Also known for being highly disruptive in multiplayer. It has great reach and if you can maintain your gauge, a solid damage output and the ability to stick close to the monster to dish out damage.

Sword and Shield: A fairly basic all-around weapon that does a lot of things. It's the only weapon that can use items while unsheathed, and has a decent movement speed. It has a shield though I'd recommend trying to evade instead whenever possible. Its biggest problems are a short reach and low overall damage output, but it's a pretty safe choice for a beginner that wants a somewhat fast weapon.

Dual Blades: A word of caution - Dual Blades can seem appealing to the new player who doesn't realize how the gameplay of Monster Hunter flows. If your primary motivation for picking these up is that you feel that you can't land hits with slower weapons, I suggest you stay away from Dual Blades and learn to play in a more patient manner rather than build bad habits. If you enjoy the gameplay or style of Dual Blades, however, then go ahead and pick these up from the get-go. These weapons have a very short reach. They can do a decent amount of damage but may have trouble hitting weak points on some monsters, and they require a large opening to do damage (as opposed to slow weapons like GS, where a player who predicts the monster's movements properly can deal the same amount of damage in a window that's a fraction of a second long as Dual Blades can during the entirety of a monster's knockdown). They're great for tripping monsters and are pretty stylish.

Hammer: My personal pick for the ideal beginner weapon. This is a hard-hitting impact weapon, meaning it's great at knocking monsters out if you hit the head, and exhausts monsters no matter where you hit them. It's recommended for beginners because its moveset is more forgiving than that of the GS and teaches you how to hit weak points consistently. Its reach is only middling and it can't cut tails.

Hunting Horn: One of the most misunderstood weapon types in the game. It gets a bad rap as either a support weapon or a weapon that is hard to use. The former is only moderately true, while the latter is wholly false. The Hunting Horn can deal a decent amount of damage on its own, though it is probably the weakest weapon for solo play. It has great reach, and while worse at KO than Hammers, exhausts monsters very quickly. Among the weapons with "upkeep costs" (LS, DBs, HH, GL, IG, CB) this is definitely the easiest one to maintain since it doesn't require the presence of a monster. Really people overcomplicate this weapon - give it a try if you like the idea of playing offensive support.

Lance: Probably my least-used weapon in the games. It's a very defensive weapon, but with low damage output. Be aware that Monster Hunter doesn't have any way for a player to serve as an effective tank since the aggro management tools are not effective enough to do so. Also has a tendency to be the victim of disruptive attacks from other weapons in multiplayer. On the plus side, a skilled player can use this weapon effectively to stay close to a monster and counter its attacks.

Gunlance: Consistently bottom tier in previous games - will Gunlance rise from the ashes and claim its spot among the other weapons? The most important thing to remember is that this is not a Lance variant, but rather a totally unique weapon. It has low mobility but is good at breaking hard monster parts. Wyvern Fire can be used almost like the GS's charge attacks if you're inclined to be flashy.

Switch Axe: A fast, hard-hitting weapon, but one that requires you to be on your defensive A-game since there is no shield. It is good at exploiting large openings since its attacks don't move it around much. The entirety of axe mode is essentially a trap - the weapon when used effectively is really just a reload sword. Still, it's fairly easy to use and powerful. Just don't upswing people in axe mode - it's a huge nuisance.

Insect Glaive: This weapon has two big difficulties - it has the most rigorous upkeep cost in the game, and it has a wide, sweeping moveset that has difficulty hitting weak points. Essentially the weapon is completely useless unless you have red and white extracts stored up, which you will have to do about every minute. While you have extracts, though, it's a fast weapon that can deal high damage and is the best weapon at scoring mounts. The wide sweeping moveset is something a little less obvious. This can lead to you missing the weak point or even hitting a nearby hard spot and bouncing - an issue for even experienced players. If you can maintain your Kinsect extract buffs AT ALL TIMES, this is a great choice and is really fun to use.

Charge Blade: One of the most technical and also the most enjoyable weapons. While it hit a rough patch in Generations, World returns its moveset to the glory it had in 4U. This weapon essentially stole the title of king of knockouts from the Hammer, as it's even better at scoring KOs. It has a high damage output and a very fluid play loop that essentially feels like what Switch Axe was intended to be. It might be a little too complex for new players, though, since it does demand that you follow a certain loop in order to deal damage effectively.

Light Bowgun: The first of the gunner weapons. It has high mobility and can deal damage from a range. It also has an ability known as rapid fire, which can shoot off an ammo-efficient volley of shots to deal damage. LBG is known primarily for being good at dealing elemental damage, and can also be used by a very experienced player to do lockdown runs with status and explosives.

Heavy Bowgun: The king of raw damage. In every previous Monster Hunter game, this weapon has had the highest damage output and the best time attack results. It's great at firing off bullets that deal physical damage. While this weapon has very slow movement and a long sheathe time, don't let that put you off - it's perfectly capable of avoiding monster attacks and getting around the battlefield unassisted. No other weapon hits as hard.

Bow: For a long time, this weapon has suffered under a reputation as a "weak weapon" and a support weapon. This is a false conception, and Bow is actually a powerful weapon that functions essentially like a ranged Hammer (but without KO). The real issue here is that the Bow possesses a plethora of options that are almost all completely useless. Arc shots do more harm than good, Pierce arrows are essentially useless, and while there are multiple coating types only one of them is worth using (but that one is basically mandatory). In this way, it's a lot like the Switch Axe. In the hands of a player who knows what he's doing, Bow is a solid ranged weapon, but trying to get creative with it will usually just result in you timing out the hun

Just got my R2 copy. Woohoo. Will single player weapons and armor be usable on multiplayer or it's separate progress?
