QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Apr 15 2019, 12:34 PM) How about your own personal experience? i don't get into contact so much of blockchain product, i don't think it's very pervasive at the moment. Got into crypto late 2017. Mostly lost money because I joined late. 2019 has a been a better year after buying the lows in December 2018. Personally cryptocurrency hasn't affected me that much but it's nice to have an alternative store of value that nobody can steal easily. Need more user story like mentioned by Ash1988 maybe when i see more successful end product story, i would be more compelled to invest in cryptos. But too many coins, not many such success story. |

QUOTE(budaita @ May 8 2019, 09:20 AM) Binance just got hacked https://binance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articl...y-Breach-Update The hackers were able to withdraw 7000 BTC in this one transaction.Funds are being compensated, but BNB is down a lot https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/binance-coin blockchain is looking like a scam already with almost every exchange got hacked before. waiting for Binance's clients to complain their lost of fund. how is something supposedly very secured got hacked so frequently? how can it even be applied in other areas if it can't give users peace of mind? QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ May 8 2019, 09:57 PM) Blockchain itself works. But centralized exchanges will always be priority targets for hackers because they store lots of crypto. that's a consolation to give yourself, one thing investor hate is risk, trading is about risk management, not exposing portfolio to risky business. If you hold your own private keys safely, and not on an exchange, then no need to worry. I sold half of what I still had to ETH/Nano. It'll probably bounce back once everything dies down, but I don't trade much nowadays and will keep my crypto off exchanges. |

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ May 9 2019, 12:40 PM) Yes, but I don't plan to migrate for now. Malaysian food is quite cheap haha that is the issue, apart from security concern, your transaction cost would have eaten your fund away the moment you go fiat>crypto>fiat, how much percentage you already lost, apart from worrying about hacking. And I do convert some to ringgit, but this year MYR has gone down while most crypto has recovered (Bitcoin and Ethereum doubled) so if I want to convert to fiat I'll probably store in SGD/USD. and the moment if goes back to fiat, it will be captured by bank, hence gov, any gov for the matter no matter where you end up in. |

Why p2p price for BNB so high?
now BNB/USD is 526 from the binance chart using google found 526 United States Dollar equals 2,172.38 Malaysian Ringgit but https://c2c.binance.com/en/trade/buy/BNB shows RM2,395 so extra 2395-2172=223 which is 10% (223/2172) value loss just like that before even pull the first trade. someone pls enlighten, can bigpay card avoid that expensive spread via p2p? QUOTE(lowya @ Apr 19 2021, 01:45 PM) Why p2p price for BNB so high? same way i check for USDT/MYR at https://c2c.binance.com/en/trade/buy/USDT which quote 4.40 MYRnow BNB/USD is 526 using google found 526 United States Dollar equals 2,172.38 Malaysian Ringgit but https://c2c.binance.com/en/trade/buy/BNB shows RM2,395 so extra 2395-2172=223 which is 10% (223/2172) value loss just like that before even pull the first trade. someone pls enlighten, can bigpay card avoid that expensive spread via p2p? but googled 1 United States Dollar equals 4.13 Malaysian Ringgit which means need to pay extra 4.4-4.13=0.27 which is 6.5% (0.27/4.13) more. either BNB or USDT, the moment transfer already gone 6.5%-10% fee, round trip back to MYR 20% is going to disappeared from the value. tell me where it goes wrong? |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Apr 19 2021, 01:54 PM) ofcause this is exchange rate i'm talking abt, i was asking if it make sense to transact p2p on binance knowing that 6.5%-10% single trip is lost, if round trip back to MYR is going to loose up to 20%, it's insane, why do you guys still do it this way? was my calculation above wrong? pls don't tell me "you are going to 10x your investment why bother with 20%" kind of arguement. QUOTE(Amaru @ May 8 2021, 01:47 PM) A lot of people prefer to buy USDT for trading because it's more stable. The price won't change much while you transfer or browse coins to buy. Whereas BTC can rise or fall $500 during the same time. BNB/USDT is uptrending, hence trading */BNB pairs makes more sense? Or even better trade */ETH?This post has been edited by lowya: May 8 2021, 10:48 PM |
