Yeah, I have friends like that who believe BTC is another bubble waiting to burst soon....just like how the dotcom bubble did in the late 90s. On the other hand, I just found out one of my friend has dumped RM40k into Onecoin hoping it will experience a meteoric rise like how BTC did. Isn't Onecoin a scam? I told him it would have been better to just trade cryptocurrencies but he said he is too busy  shakehead.gif

I'm not familiar with Onecoin so I can't comment.

I guess your friend is the high-risk appetite type. For me, those are the type that become millionaire very fast but can also become bankrupt very fast too. Just like lottery, only a few are the winners. rclxub.gif

Another good thing about Komodo is that it is supported natively by ledger hardware wallet. Had been eyeing komodo for quite some time now. Wish I had bought earlier. dry.gif

Bullish or Bubble, nobody knows. I hope it is bullish but will not enter the market until the next major pullback. smile.gif

Hodl your coins, buy the dip. Relax & no Panic Selling, please

As long as you don't panic sell, your coins will get back to +ve level eventually..... on condition their fundamentals are strong
Saw this article online, please read the bottom part of the article about panic selling

Yeah, definitely not recommended to panic sell. Since I entered cryptos in february 2017, market had crashed many times only to recover and shoot higher. Not all coins but most. That's provided there are no other bad news.

For long-term investors, better to just ride out this storm. For traders, now is a good time to make money! smile.gif

Not at the moment. Using MYR, you have to buy BTC first.

Apologies but I have no experience with other denominations. As blue mentioned, coinhako is an option for SGD.

For MYR, can use localbitcoins, Luno, xbit Asia or remitano. Another one is coinhako where you can either choose MYR or sgd but apparently not both. I have no experience with coinhako though.

China has banned ICOs and those dealing with ICOs. Now the unconfirmed news that is spreading like wildfire is that they are going to ban all crypto exchanges. Everybody waiting for confirmation which will probably be on Monday. If true, expect another black Monday...... bye.gif

Since I found out that ARK coin staking doesn't need the wallet to sync with the blockchain and doesn't need the wallet to be online all the time, I decided to transfer my ARK to the desktop wallet and started "staking" by voting for the delegate. So far so good.

The only thing I suddenly realized is that ARK is currently supported by ledger nano S! bangwall.gif Have to decide whether to transfer all my ARKs to my ledger and re-vote which would cost me another 1 ARK just to re-vote. cry.gif

QUOTE(iskull @ Sep 11 2017, 12:25 AM)
Yeah, you can unvote if you choose new delegate but unselect the existing one.

but no reason for you to unvote since you are using a new address. You can just leave the one you created on the existing client.
*
Currently generating a total of 0.12 ARK since yesterday 6pm. However, the delegate that I selected "quarkpool" will only payout when the total is 5 ARKs. Rough calculation will make it about 25 days before I get a payout assuming I understand their terms and condition correctly.

Will decide further after I get the payout as I will get my new ledger nano S hopefully by then.

You have ARKs? Which delegate did you vote for?

Regret I didn't stake my ARKs earlier as I have been holding it for a few months. Just found out recently that ARKs wallet doesn't need to run 24/7 for staking. Wished I had bought more last time. dry.gif

Bro, do you know how does the generate works? I read it and seem very confusing. Delegate and vote thingy.
Let say if I hold 100 Ark how many in % do I get daily?
*
Can refer more there :

https://forum.ark.io/category/5/delegates

100 Ark a bit too little. From that forum, 10k Ark will get you about 2.5-2.7 ark per day. There is also a google spreadsheet link which estimates the returns. Just enter your amount and look at the estimates for each delegate : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FGo...hkl_m0/htmlview

QUOTE(Secruoser @ Sep 11 2017, 10:52 AM)
So it's about 0.6% per month or 7.2% a year?
*
Yeah, looks like 7.2% per year provided the payout is constant. As people may join or leave the pool, the payout will vary.

However, I don't really care as long as it generates Arks WITHOUT having to constantly run the wallet online.

I always thought proof-of-stake coins always must ensure wallet is online all the time but looks like ARK doesn't need that. A real plus point for me.

QUOTE(Ch3n_low @ Sep 11 2017, 11:25 AM)
where have to store the ark to get free ark?
*
Use the official ARK desktop wallet : https://ark.io/

Don't forget if you have ledger nano S, can use that instead.

If you have ETH accounts not on exchanges, check them. OMG is giving out free coins! From the largest ETH addresses to the smallest one as long as more than 0.1 ETH. rclxms.gif

Remember that for these "air-drops", you do not need to do anything, especially not going to a website to enter your private keys to claim free coins! sweat.gif

QUOTE(TheRealist @ Sep 15 2017, 06:16 PM)
The title for this thread is Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies so I guess my post should be valid.
Well I think I am going to sound harsh here.
Currently BTC price is 3,046.82.
I find that people here are so deluded. I actually see comments whereby bitcions are being said to be cheap right now. If bitcoins are cheap right now, then what about 1 year ago?
How do you actually assign value to a bitcoin in the first place? How do you justify to others that bitcoin is actually worth say 10k like most of you are saying right now. I mean consider this. If I create my own coin with the exact technology like bitcoin, can I sell that coin for 10k?

What really justify the price of bitcoin? The idea? The infrastructure? Etc? Have you guys actually done a survey and check it out. Compare bitcoin with say Amazon AWS? I mean let's not take the "mining" cost into consideration. After all. Does mining add to the actual value?

I mean is bitcoin really a evolutionary concept? After all, for example. Someone say that bitcoin transaction is fast. But then, so is paypal, etc. People say that there is no centrality in bitcoin. But then 95% of bitcoin is being held by a few entities. So what gives.

Let's compare a bitcoin with say even your own laptop. Can you say that complexity wise , your bitcoin is actually more complex then say your laptop or even your phone?

It's just incredible that everything under the sun is being used to justify bitcoin. Showing how naive people really are.

I guess people really do not know that prices can be manipulated.

Putting money into something that is really not backed up by anything, do not have any income generating potential accept for capital gains,is just a more complex version to say gaming money, is pathetic. I mean if say bitcoin go to zero, how are you going to justify that you made a calculated judgement in the first place? I mean are you going to say that this coin is providing me with interest? Are you going to say that this coin is something tangible that I can use for my daily life. What is the physical manifestation of this. I mean come on even email which cost nothing has more utility then bitcoin.

Bitcoin is nothing then just electric ledgers being passed around with people assigning value to it after all. No different actually from say somekind of medium money whereby if say I happen to hold this money, I will be blessed from the gods. It's no different from fiat actually. But at least with fiat, the money is "based" on the economy of that nation. What is bitcoin based on?

Cannot help but write this because i am getting irritated by the comments here. Just need to let my steam out.
And yes I created an account for this because I know people with no balls here will definitely ask the moderators to actually suspend my main account.
*
Easy. Man-made. Bitcoin market cap is less than 100 B while gold is in the trillions. I have asked these questions myself. Just substitute Bitcoin with gold and see whether you can answer your questions. Why should a piece of metal be so precious. Why can't gold be cheap?

To be honest I had the same questions as he did before I gotten into this whole space, with a bit lesser of the malice (since if shit tons of very intelligent people are looking into something, there must be a good reason).

Gotten my answers and now I am way in too deep. sweat.gif
*
I'm sure a lot of people have the same questions. Me included. For many, bitcoin and cryptos defies logic but in this crazy world, who says logic is important?

If bitcoin dies a horrible death, some will say "see, I told you so". However, if bitcoin continues its uptrend and who knows, become 10k a coin, the same people will say "crazy but I wished I had bought some!" biggrin.gif
