Luno now 48,569 / 48,568 yes tight spread but you already buying 3.5% higher than google price without knowing (1 Bitcoin equals 46945.27 Malaysian Ringgit)

plus do you know your cost/fee of withdrawal?
*
we not much choice other than Remit or Luno, both a bit expensive. not enough liquidity in our market and not enough choices.

i think this digital kitty thing is a fad, but it shows the power of blockchain.
real life application is when you put all those fine arts or music copyright etc onto the blockchain. now ppl can more easily sell it and transfer it around, while maintaining ownership of it in the blockchain.

i dont understand you guys logic. wont the influx of new investors push the price even further up ?
*
pros and cons.
these new investors aren't interested in the tech behind it. all they want to see is profit.
hence this new money will buy in at whatever price and sell at the 1st sign of a dip. so in a sense, it will become even more volatile

And people said BTC sucks... At least I can make transaction in less than 15mins

Actually i have enough cash, just that i have this rule that 90% of my portfolio in btc, remaming 10% in altcoins. But now i might allocate more for altcoin especially iota. Just wondering  if it is too late now.
*
i think you should diversify more. keep 40-50% in btc, the rest in alts is ok. use alt to earn more btc

QUOTE(SkyHermit @ Dec 7 2017, 12:27 AM)
Just started investing crypto 2 months ago. To be honest all my 5 other altcoins didnt perform any better than BTC. If i had kept my money in BTC i would have earned more. My other altcoins are LTC, OMG, Lisk, POWR and IOTA. I bought these at ATH except IOTA at $0.70, thats why i can see 7x gain today, but it has dropped to 5x gain as at right now (iota = 3 usd)

One thing i heard a lot is that, if bitcoin really does fail, all other altcoins wont survive. So BTC is safer. And if lightning network is implemented, most of the altcoins will be useless anyway they said. Maybe that is why i have like 90% portfolio in btc and 10% in altcoin

And the fact that we can store  btc  in cold storage so i feel safe storing large amount of it, but for most altcoin we cant even put in ledger nano s, and i wont keep large amount in exchange
*
for me, btc is my end game, so i keep some as BTC while investing in alt coins is to earn more BTC. so i trade in satoshis vs alts, not looking at the USD prices. so even btc price go up, u will have more btc on hand, which is even better.

2 reasons i invest in altcoin. First reason is same as yours, to be able to get more btc, but so far all my altcoins fail to perform against  btc except iota. So i am thinking if i should still buy more altcoin. Maybe i just need to give them more time.

2nd reason is to find the next bitcoin like 10x or 100x gain. I believe POWR, Lisk, OMG might do that. LTC I think is the safest to do it.  I believe LTC might be the one as i think it is undervalued, it should be at least 1/4 the price of BTC due to 4x the supply.
*
yep, same here. i am also into POWR and OMG (OMG not so much yet).. i also think NEM (XEM) quite a good prospect to look at as well

Fellow sifus, I’m trying to venture into ICO and they asks for erc-20 supported address. How do I know if my deposit address is supported or where do I get this address? I’m having a nano s ledger.

Thank you so much fellow sifus for responding to and assuring me that I didn’t lost my qsp while transferring it to nano s and also warning me of the risk of exposing address. I’m still at the mid of exploring it’s usage, though have been slow 😂 didn’t foresee it’s usage to be complicated 😪
*
just use www.myetherwallet.com. its a erc-20 wallet, which means it can hold ethereum and the tokens from ICOs that is based on the ethereum blockchain
Ledger Nano S also can use on myetherwallet, just change your settings under Ethereum to allow Browser Support. but that will disable you to use Ledger's own Ethereum chrome extension. need to change iit again to access it again

QUOTE(Doggystyle @ Dec 7 2017, 05:33 PM)
Hi friends,
So far, this is my experience with bitcoin, added a wallet in Luno and Blockchain. Bought a few hundred buck from Remitano and also direct from Luno. Sold a bit from Luno, bank in to mbb.

I want to wet my hands with some other cryptocoins. Since none of it would accept MYR so things get a bit complicated (BTC to buy coins and etc).

The process flow would be something like this, please correct me if I'm wrong:
a) Identify some site to buy Monero (for example)
b) use BTC to buy Monero (transfer from Blockchain)
c) Ok, this is the part where I need some help...

Say, over some time Monero increase in value....do I exchange it back to BTC?

d) Final part: Get BTC back to Luno, and get money in mbb.

Trying to figure this puzzle right now. I'm good for all kind of suggestion.
*
it depends on your end goal. if u want more Monero, u buy when Monero is cheap and keep.
you can move it out to the exchange, wait for long term prices then put it back and sell it.

or u can just trade BTC vs Monero, buy when BTC is high, sell when Monero is high vs BTC.
you will end up with more BTC, then you can send it back to Luno and cash out.

Wow NEM went up 135% xD... yeah hard to buy alts unless your BTC is already at the exchange. Yesterday's traffic was so bad.

ETH traffic weren't bad though. All looking good for ALTs now. All green!
*
yeah missed out when the dip happen. learnt my lesson, better leave some at the exchange!
alts recovering, the new money into btc now disperse into cheap alts.

besides, NEM also going to launch on Wechat Pay so i think that also contributed to it.

yep is the same.
NEM is name of the whole project/blockchain, XEM is the coin.

"The regulation, however, only prohibits the use of cryptocurrencies as a payment tool, and does not regulate activities such as bitcoin mining and trading"

So I guess the Indonesians can still buy, but cannot use for domestic transactions?
*
so weird. the other day during World Islamic Economic Forum, one of the AmInvesment bankers said if Bitcoin was used as a payment method is ok, but trading is speculative so its not halal for Muslims.

but Indon going the opposite way, banning payment but allow mining/trading instead. hrmm

Pegging requires foreign reserves to maintain. Not solely on M words. Else it will not be recognized by other countries and if MYR is not accepted by other countries, then RM x to USD y is syok sendiri only.

BTC economy is comparable to gold economy now, a commodity type of supply and demand, not as currency yet, unless they maintain price stability and increase application/adoption. But I think by nature of its being limited to 21mil, it cannot be a currency. Probably the same like gold was replaced by fiats as currency.
*
As for now, bitcoin and the crypto world is still actually in its infancy. It's a store of value for now, but once it scales and stabilize on a price level, it can become a payment currency. In any case, some ppl see BTC as gold 2.0, where they keep it to store their value and use other coins which aims to be a payment medium since as Litecoin and DASH.
