ChanK,
Of course I don't mind them posting their link but it is not very nice & tactful.

At least come in and chit-chatlah sikit dulu. Afterall we all also want to know what GEM is all about. Then post linklah.

Lebih SOPAN begitu kan?

Saya tak marah dan GEM jgn berkecil hati. Hanya teguran membina.

Dear West Wing,

Just by his style of writing, I know who wrote to you though I don't know him in person. Plain and simple. You don't need a forensic scientist.

Don't think you have written anything offensive so far. You articulated your thoughts well and speak your mind. Afterall, this is an open forum, and a little reminder when someone gets out of line is pretty normal to me.

We are here to present our thoughts so that we can move forward together. Dissenting views are never a problem. Only personal attacks is frown upon. There are a lot of very smart people in this forum and also many without high formal education. That doesn't mean that they are not honest or sincere, all are respectful. Only bad deeds are bad.

GEM, semoga kita boleh sama-sama berjuang dalam perusahaan ini. Lebih banyak pendapat lebih bagus. Tentu ada yang amat bernas untuk renungan bersama.

Good luck.

This is the start of a new era. It doesn't matter you are green, black, yellow, purple, indian, cina, melayu, iban, benggali .........all are welcome.

Let's be color-blind and treat all as our own kind.

We all love swiftlets all the same.

West Wing,
Your reminder above is indeed timely.

This forum is indeed an open forum where everybody can learn. It is probably the most popular swiftlet forum in Malaysia and the reason for its popularity is exactly due to the open nature.

For those cari makan consultants, this forum is free advertisement for them. PM here PM there...........advice given in PM got guarantee or not?

Engineer Lee,

Tabik tabik for the summary Sifu Vs Con_Sultants

The only problem is many Con-sultants are excellent sales promoters too. No offense to some Excellent salesman who are not conman.

For English readers:

I agree with a few forumers here that you are using this forum as a short cut to promote your company. Non of your postings do far discuss about swiftlets in general. All are about your company this and that.

You are most welcome to promote your company but do it by just posting the link after talking about swiftlets. An example is swiftjames and others. thumbup.gif

At the moment, you have not helped in increasing the knowledge base of forumers about swiftlets. If you are not willing to share freely or wants to keep it as your company's secret, I humbly suggest you stop posting in this forum before it gets HOT.

Why don't we all pool our knowledge together and come out with some form of guidelines?

DOs
-----
1. Allow Swiftlet farming (SF) in shoplots confined only to the upper floors.
2. Allow only Open Roof Entry to minimize sound pollution
3.

DON'Ts
---------
1. The Ground Floor of the shop cannot be used for SF
2. Banned all forms of Side Entry
3.

Please feel free to modify and add to the list. Slowly but surely, the list will become comprehensive.

Its really a sad state of affairs in this SW industry, govt offficials not appreciating this positive effects this industry had brought n the future multiplier spinoffs it can bring to our local economy.
Good samaritan like Mr David Lim doing his human best to represent bh owners is just not enough .We need capable bh owners to sacrifice their time to help him too. Moral support wont do any good. That says a lot on some of  the bn merchants assoc. which failed in their duties.
As for Kedah, we hope David Lim can deliver the pros of this industry n enlighten the govt officials that BH whether in town or rural area if properly managed can bring tremendous benefits to  Kedah state.
As for this Harry guy, pls do yr job as swiftlet friendly blogger since U hv been invited to present papers to Kedah officials. Many, esply newbies hv looked up to you as their sifu even engaging u in building their BH in town areas, spending their life savings in this SW ind for their future. Think very deeply because there may be severe consequences. You shd know this business is not carried out by WOG only.

Coolandy, pls spare a thought for some bh owners who hv done well in their double storey bh. Dont post unnec. items due to yr innocence.

Dear Orimann,

I could be ignorant if that is what you meant.

By the way, feel free to add or modify the list. I am only trying to start something. Nothing I wrote is definitive and would be naive to think otherwise.

Instead of you just talk the talk, why not walk the talk? Something concrete from you is most welcome, not that everybody would agree but if more people chip in, add or modify the list, then I am sure Mr David Lim or Harry or anyone for that matter could lead this industry in the right direction.

No intention to hurt your feelings.

First of all, do we have to reply with all the QUOTES each time? It makes scrolling down boring.

Second, YES, you can move BH to another location. It has been done in Indonesia,

BUT BUT BUT

that was for small portable BHs that was initially built and when full of birds, the small BH is moved a little by little over a long period of time into a much larger BH.

Sorry if anyone gets excited reading the first part!

Maybe somebody can come up with a way to move the shophouses failing which we all need to attend a Swiftlet Pied Piper's course. Cheap cheap only RM999 for a day. Limited seats, first come first basis.

Someone wrote and told me that Black something sound from harry wasn't from pak henri mulia. Pak henri mulia was influenced badly by Chank who was Pak henri mulia's agent in malaysia.  So how do I verify such claims ?  Do I believe in it ?  And if I do, so what ?  The earth still rotate and the sun will still rise up tomorrow and we humans will continue to screw each other royally for a bit of fame and fortune.

Chank told me that Black C is NOT Black T! I have the email but I won't post it here because it would not right for me to post it without his permission.

So, where is all this gonna lead us?

Can't blame Harry for being invited. He has done a very good job in marketing himself despite his relatively short time in blogging swiftlet subjects.

Even though I don't agree with everything mentioned in his blog and he sometimes seems to get ahead of himself, I nevertheless would give him credit for generating a lot of awareness about this industry.

It is our responsibility to respond to his articles in the proper manner.

I I will open the v2 thread on 1/3/2009 or v1 reached 2500 postings which ever come first.
Based on goggle key-word search, lowyat.net swiftlet thread is ranked as follows:

swiftlet = rank 15
swiftlet farming = rank 4

As swiftlet keeping is still a new term and most people will still use the above key words to search, I would like to suggest that we remain the "Swiftlet farming" as our topic in order to increase the chance of reach.

Engineer Lee, can you email the archive to me as per Pmed ?
*
With due respect, I propose we contact Seeseng to give him the honor to open the second thread. What do you all think?

You all have done a good job in an open forum.

First one in that area, a feeding ground plus situated along the flying path. 50 nests in 1.5 years is a SAD story.

Call it whatever you want but it COULD be much better.

Added on February 16, 2009, 9:11 pmThere is a lot of room for improvement.

Added on February 16, 2009, 9:13 pm1000 nests in 2.5 yrs in Mukah......no wonder someone got jelez.
