Hi all, sorry if this topic has been raised few hundred times. But I believe everyone have their own preference and budget.
Let's cut short, currently I have around RM4000 to spend. Can you guys recommend me what can be achieve with that amount of money? Maybe later on when I have extra money, I can spend more but at the moment, lets stick at RM4000 only. Please let me describe what I have in my house
House Type : Small apartment 1000 square feet Living Hall Area : 15X10 feet Ceiling Height : 8 feet TV : LG Oled 55B6T Media Player : Himedia Q10 Pro Astro : NO coz I potong already Current Speaker : LG SH7 Soundbar
Fyi, I'm eyeing on Dolby Atmos system. But I don't think with that current budget, it is possible to achieve that. The cheapest I think is Samsung soundbar which is also around RM5k. But everyone here say that soundbar is a waste of money when it comes to Atmos. Make sense as I also don't like how the sound from my LG Soundbar. No matter what source I used, it will still not sound great.
Looking forward for your recommendation. Thanks

QUOTE(ktek @ Jun 7 2017, 12:28 PM) about 3x4 meter. u plan the sound for how many seats? denon x1300 or x2300 can do 5.1.2 with audyssey multieq xt for calibrate up to 8 seats. yamaha im not sure suitable model. can ask other sifus 4k bajet. the av receiver(amp) itself near 2-3k. so u can buy a pair of front bookshelf spk only. the spk choice try to get 6.5" size. will helps a lot in movies. dont forget to buy spk cable. usually not included. u measure the required length. if hifi shop sell expensive, u can survey car accessory shop. is suitable bro, u referring to how many seats in front of the TV? my sofa is only 3 seater. I am not sure which one to choose, is it expensive AVR and cheap speaker OR cheap AVR but expensive speaker ? 6.5" is this the bookshelf speaker for LRF ?

Thank you all for giving me advice and recommendations on what to get for my Home Theatre journey. I guess I will get the Atmos receiver and the bookshelf as suggested by sifu Ben. I will extend my budget lil bit further as it is better get a good soundsystem and use it for the long run. Its not something that I can afford it to change as when as I like.
For the front and left bookshelf speaker, may I know what is the best way to place it? On speaker stand or wall mount? Or can i just place it on the TV cabinet?
