As I was saying I needed a 4mm SDS bit and getting one is difficult. But I do have a SDS chuck with an ordinary round masonry bit and so I used that but drilling thru concrete was much harder. I’m just wondering why it doesn’t hammer that well ? I guess a chuck does not perform the same as a stand-alone bit?
cleaning aside, 30+ min. Could have been faster, but too many premise, hammer pun tak tahu mana. the only one i have is a small cross peen pin hammer...
cleaning kira..almost 2 hours.
I would normally use grinder to cut a groove. Than rotary hammer to have a clean hole cut.
So no need to cement repair the crack edge. Which is very ugly after repair. (Not my expect)
More than 100dB SPL when cutting. My cordless circular is less than 100dB when cutting, noise level is more than double. My wired Makita pun not table saw noisy. But i see online some ppl are saying circular=table sound level.
But still, figuratively mcm x banyak, but i can cut using my circular without earplug. I cannot even switch on my table saw without one.
Table saw more noisy because the table act as a speaker box.
my advice is... dont start. it's addictive. unless, you're making a living with it... but the itch is still there. how i end up with 5 cordless drill driver, i dont know. dont ask. it just happens
But anyway, heat does build up regardless of using diamond/tungsten coated bit or not. Yes, the frequency to cool down the bit can be less but the heat will transfer to drill chuck. Perhaps, it is harmless to the drill but I would take precautionary measure to cool down the bit before the heat reach the drill.
Water is not just as a cool down purpose but lubricate too. Powder form from the tile will grind the metal away.
Heat doesn't transfer that much into the chuck. As the surface will cool down in distance and rotating.
i am looking for a drill dust collector. found Skil and Karcher have them but not available here in MY found some cheap Chinese alternatives instead and even comes with a laser lever anyone bought one? I see them selling at Shopee for around Rm50
If for concrete or wall drill, the dust is a lot more.
How's the performance? Hi all sifu sekalian For scope of work to cut a nice looking square manhole in the plaster ceiling ("drywall" or gypsum board), any difference between cordless/corded performance?
Coz other than cutting manhole in plaster ceiling, I may not use the oscillating tool much (have existing 18V bosch batt). Any corded worx/bosch/makita oscillating tool circa 250-300W should be plentiful enough, or it will be a hopeless scenario like using the "impact drill" in RC wall?
Read somewhere that circular saw not a good idea coz it will produce a desert storm of dust.
No need nice square man hole.
This is what I do.
Cut the hole using any tools. Doesn't matter the line is not nice or zigzag. Just try your best to get it straight. No need shaolin kungfu.
Than I order a pic frame to the size of the square hole. Stick to the plaster ceiling. Nice and neatly to cover the ugly opening.
off topic but somehow relevant, i dont want to open new thread to ask question. Hence, posting here.
Bought these expansion screws from MrD to mount pull up bar onto the wall (Couldnt find other type of expansion bolt). What is the thing circled in red?
Spring washer .
Not necessary to need it if no vibration on the usage.
Yesterday try to use the Worx hydroshot. Press the trigger and the water shot out from the trigger side and also when directly into the battery. Water flow out from the battery.
Thought the inner trigger valve seal spoiled. Open up and then pull the trigger valve out, the hose break. Look like the hose is brittle already from age. That's probably water leak out.
Now try to see able to change the hose.
But the most expensive is the 4.0AH battery. Might spoiled. Try put in silica to dry out. Hopefully.
