I have been using GSB 180 Li, for screwing plaster ceiling & wood, drill walls for plastic wall plugs and even hack a small hole for my washing machine pipe with 8mm bit.
Totally worth it, RM500 for a mobile power tools for all my DIY home renovation project. *Took me 3 hour for a 6 X 4" concrete hole This post has been edited by SheepGeeks: Apr 30 2018, 03:23 PM |

QUOTE(sgpdsmss @ Apr 30 2018, 12:57 PM) Bear in mind, GSB 180Li is multifunctional but it's not specialized in every function. So expect things to be done in a longer time frame. Such as:1. Impact drive mode : max 54Nm torque (GDR 120-LI could produce 100Nm max) 2. Impact drill mode : max 8mm on concrete (GSB 16RE could drill up to 16mm) |

QUOTE(kabyss87 @ Apr 30 2018, 03:08 PM) Finally a GSB 180 Li User! Maximum 8mm masonry bit. 6 X 4" hole hacking took me 3 hours. (With manual hacking with chisel also)Was eyeing for this particular model since the 18v battery works with the Gas 18v Vacuum as well. I not sure if this was asked before, but can your cordless GSB drill holes into Masonry or Concrete?? I dont mind if it takes a longer time to get a hole in those concrete slabs, as long as i can drill a hole in it thats fine. Have you tried it with your GSB? |

QUOTE(kabyss87 @ Apr 30 2018, 03:40 PM) that was some heavy duty work... It's mend for light use, so you can't expect much from it.I'm sure it will be a worthy investment for me. Does seems that cordless can perform as good as corded ones. Tqvm for the sharing In such, if you're drilling reinforced concrete, you must use ceramic drill bit and expect to replace it after few holes. GSB couldn't drive masonry bit into solid concrete even 6mm bit. |

Hi sifus, anyone here has experiences in tiles drilling?
I'm using bosch's CYL 9 ceramic drill to drill on my tiles. Seems like my bit overheat and give way after 1.5 holes drilled on tiles. Do I need to spray water as coolant or what? I'm too poor to spend 1 bit for 1.5 holes lol.. I got like 4~5 more holes. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Aug 13 2018, 10:42 AM) Drill the floor tile or wall tile ? It's different? No wonder I drill wall tiles, everything look fine. I'll try again with water for my floor tiles.Wall tile should be no problem and easy task. For floor, need water to cool down the drill bit. Pour the water slowly while drilling. |

QUOTE(nenenlofap @ Aug 15 2018, 04:32 PM) Got Bosch Multi-Purpose bit which is said can be used on tile, don't know true or not. You can ask the retailer. I think what you meant was CYL 4, it doesn't give nice cut on tiles like CYL 9. I used that for concrete only. Eventually, I switched to SDS bit for concrete & reinforced concrete.Anyway, I tried to dip my ceramic drill bit (CYL 9) in water every 5 sec of drilling. Works like magic.. |

QUOTE(nenenlofap @ Sep 6 2018, 12:07 AM) I think if you're not cari makan with the tools, there's no need to buy the expensive set (with trolley some more), you are not going to use every tool that come with the set. For me if handtools (car tool kit included), I prefer to buy the tools bit by bit or small set base on the current needs and I would buy a cheap one (but not very cheap) then use sampai rosak because of frequent used, later replace the rosak one with a better quality one. Then when I think I have enough tools will I consider buying the trolley. I think you're right, might as well, I make my own trolley then buy tools by bit / set.. Even the stanley's doesn't come with oil filter remover. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Mar 27 2019, 02:50 PM) finally tested out bosch gsb180LI, very good, powerful enough to drill holes on steel with a step drill bit. Tested those cheap RM 100-200 drills from LAZADA with 21V cant even drill halfway in. Conclusion, do not trust those spec online, they have higher RPM, voltage & torque than this bosch model but in reality, the bosch is better. From photo, can see the grundfos pressure tank is quite thick and bosch is still able to drill through it without any problem. **I do not sell Bosch, just sharing since i have been surveying on powertools for days and bought some cheap drills wasted $$. compared many branded and found bosch is the most affordable one My GSB180LI still in good condition even after ceiling work, floor tiles drill, reinforced concrete drill and so on. Now I'm considering another impact driver for car repair. Maybe will stick to Bosch again.. |

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Mar 27 2019, 05:22 PM) just my regret, didnt get double battery as there is no battery indicator on the drill. Depend on usage I would say, if continuous should be around 30~45min. I install ceiling, can last for 1 day job because most of the time, it's not operating.Usually how long can the battery last you? 30 min to 1 hour? For me, I prefer the existing 1.5ah battery, it's already quite bulky and heavy for certain job. |

Guys, anyone using welding set at home? I'm thinking to get a TIG or MIG welding machine (single phase)
Need some recommendation, planning to weld stainless steel or titanium pipe. |

QUOTE(stormer.lyn @ Sep 13 2021, 10:30 PM) I weld stick and MIG. You can't realistically weld s/steel with MIG from all my research (before I bought my welding set. Brand Jasic, 250A, ~RM 1500 complete set) You can get s/steel welding rods, and stick weld s/steel with a DC welding set, (results will be as good as what you can stick weld, and is usually very rough) or modify the set to flow Argon and do scratch start TIG. Wow.. thanks for the informative reply. I have never considered welding Ti. S/s, and Ti? You want to weld exhaust headers and pipes? Try seeing what they do in Thailand from YouTube. The good news is that a TIG set costs under RM 1000, if you are only welding s/s and Ti, as it needs High Frequency start only. Even scratch start works well. If you think of welding Al, then you will need an exotic TIG set with a/c, ramp up, H/F, pulse, etc, etc. You can check out Delta Welding's website. They are helpful, and also have Sh.pee and Laz.da presence. You can run the 250A set in home? any modification required on the mccb? I favor TIG because it seems easier to control and to create unique weld pattern. MIG more to straight line. Apart of that, did you keep the argon gas tank at home? any issue on that? |
