I am still exploring, this is big investment for me, need to learn more first.

This is the view of the machine with 4th axis

Wow... that's what I need to machine a miniature crankshaft for my dream project..

But this investment is quite hefty, 5.5k + 1.5k = 7k already. Hardest decision ever..

Take smaller cut and not that precise is still ok.

Buying china machine like this is tricky. have to check properly, research alot.

This are the main weak arm. The all aluminium material on the machine is already know that it is not that strong.

Z-axis should be fine but X & Y probably weaker, especially when they feed using electric motor. I'm not sure if they used closed loop system with sensor feedback to ensure the distances are correct when the resistance of cutting varies.

I think you can't expect much from a CNC machine priced at there. Even pneumatic driven feed machine from china will cost 15~30k.

Every axis is important. Any weak structure on the axis will cause accuracy. I can't see the rest behind structure.

Actually before this, I did check this similar mc in youtube. Damn, the structure y and z axis is super thin. With some thin alu angle bar ass'y together.

Not sure this stepping motor have a feedback or not. Mostly don't have. The picture motor behind have a white cap which normally don't have.  That white cap usually house a feedback unit inside.

If the mc can't do what you expect it to do, what the use to buy it even it is cheap ?

Or get the cheapest wan, modify it to strengthen the mechanism side. What you want is the controller and the motor. You don't need everything depend on China to make. Make your CNC.  flex.gif

I guess the same, no feedback because the sensors itself are costly.

I went to one of the pneumatic shop in Klang to get the full booklet, they have all the parts required for pneumatic cnc machine, from pneumatic clamp, table rotate, feed piston, etc but I don't know how should I build the system cry.gif cry.gif

Hi forummers,

Can I ask if my Boch GB10RE 500W power drill support for longer drill bit than 150mm?
Cuz i need to drill a 10mm hole on the thick concrete wall.

Thanks.
*
10mm is the maximum diameter for concrete based on the tech spec. Maybe you'll face some difficulties when going through 150mm. You can try to drill with smaller diameter first, followed by 10mm.

it's slimmer than the current GWS18V that i have, which is too big for my small palm to hold

the new ENERACER 6.3Ah batt wasnt expected. i think they are similare to US market BOSCH 18V CORE batteries, but they seem to have like 5 level of indicator, which is nice

How much the new grinder would be priced?

I'm looking for a cordless grinder for my diy project urgently.. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

So now the option is GWS 18 v-li only?

Any idea which shop/web selling it with the lowest price? I went CSM, RM566 for solo, lowest I gotten so far.

no idea yet. why not take a look at GWS 10.8V? they are really really good. i end up using the small mini grinder more often than the GWS18

QUOTE(yushin @ Jan 8 2018, 03:43 PM)
Ya, that small grinder is amazingly useful for cutting small pieces metals here and there.
Beats dremel by a lot when cutting metals.
*
That machine only support up to 3" cutting/grinding wheel right?

How much is it including battery? I don't have 10.8 or 12V batteries. I got 18v 1.5Ah battery from my impact drill only..

399 + 100 (for 2ah batt) + rm60 (charger)

1.5ah battery with GWS18v wont take long. maybe 10 min max at full load will drain the batt out

even with 4.0ah pack, i drained it in less than 25 mins of continous full load.
*
Wow.. drain that much? then how about the small one you recommended me? 2Ah for 15min?

Then I might just take the smaller one, at least my work won't stuck because of power issue.

thanks bro....

branded cordless drill need close to rm300
while China no brand Max rm200 can get the 24v one ..

my usage just screw ...medium drill steel ..wood ..wall
not often use ....

actually how much power needed for above usage ?
torque need at least how many Nm? for medium usage ?

thanks ...
*
You need a drill only or drill + screwing also?

Also, what is medium for you? 4mm? 8mm? or 14mm hole?

If drill + screwing, better take impact drill GSB 180-LI @ RM500. 54Nm is enough to secure my ceiling board eventhough it's slower than impact driver..

Need advise. I got a Black & Decker 710W KR704REK which I redeemed with my credit card points about 10 years ago.

Is this model good enough for drilling concrete wall?

I am not sure if I used the wrong type of drill bit. I find it tough to drill concrete wall.

Thanks.
*
Always refer back to their tech spec here

This machine can do masonry up to 13mm hole diameter and always use the correct drill bit to do the job.

Hi Sifus,

I wanted to buy a drill for all around use (into my condo wall etc.)

Im looking at this: Bosch GSB 180-LI. Do you guys think this is strong enough for concrete wall? Or do you have other suggestion?

Thanks!
*
I'm using that for my DIY Home Renovation. So far, it can cater for all my usage. Drill concrete for brackets, ceiling, wooden frame, etc..

As long as your holes doesn't not exceed the specification shown, it's good..

Not bad, I bought mine 500 and I has to add in drill bits myself.

Usually what size of drill bit we need to use if say i want to install curtain? TQ

Depend on your bracket hole/slot size of course. Ikea's curtain holder should be 6mm or less than that.

Hi all sifu sekalian, wanted to ask whether this can hold the Ikea Besta shelf? Sorry I'm a newbie in this kind of things. Need to get confirmation before proceed.
The shelf will be install with the rail. Question is, the screws as attached good enough to hold the weight? Roughly what is the estimated weight it can hold?

[attachmentid=9556407] [attachmentid=9556408]

[attachmentid=9556410] [attachmentid=9556412]
TV Bench
TV bench will be install with the metal wall plug. Ok right?
[attachmentid=9556411] [attachmentid=9556414]
[attachmentid=9556413]
*
1 PVC wall plug should be around 1~2kg (MAX) only, you should monitor closely on weight applied.

For the TV, metal wall plug is strong enough to hold the cabinet and TV. M8 wall plug can hold at least 10~20kg each.

so for holding pendant light around maybe 5kg what type of wall plug is required (for concrete ceiling & also plaster ceiling)?

what about short T5 casing on concrete? these plastic plug good enough (4 plugs)?

those metal ones, once you turn the bolt, can you still remove the attachment in future and reuse the bolt again or need to drill new holes and put new plugs?
*
Metal pendant light approx 3~5kg, normally 3~4 1.5" PVC wall plug on concrete ceiling is good enough. For plaster ceiling, you'll need to look for the metal supports, 4~5 self tapping screw on the metal support should be enough. Else, use 2 stud bolts anchored to the upper concrete and hang your light.

For metal one, it's too hard to be removed. Making new holes is much faster and worthwhile.

hi, i only know plug based on drill bit size 3~4 is equivalent to how many mm diameter?

regarding the metal ones, say if it's used to install something, later want to remove that item is it easy to take out the item. i don't mean remove the whole plug from hole as when you turn the bolt the metal plug already distorted in shape. but i mean reuse the same plug in the same position after removing old item. based on what i understand metal plugs you have to insert the item mounting before inserting the plug into the hole versus normal plug after insert plug then insert mounting + screws.
*
They are in inches size, I don't quite remember what is it. Should be around 3mm++.

You can recycle the plug but it's risky. You don't know if the "claw" and thread of plug are still in good condition to hold your next item. If you persist, maybe you can try applying adhesive on the bolt before securing it.

diamond shape tile drill bits ? Once I drill through tile, have to change drill bit for concrete ?
*
Ceramic drill bit to be exact. After the tile cleared, better change to masonry bit because you need the 'impact' to drill the concrete faster and ceramic drill bit is not suitable for impact. It will be worn pretty fast and it's costly.
