I wouldn't buy immediately but wait for the second or third day to get an even cheaper discount because institutional investors will not sell all in one go.

Yea me too, thinking of entering after a few days, other markets in the red anyways and tomorrow us mid terms

Wow .... just ... wow  shakehead.gif

Now Genting and Genting Malaysia report impairment losses.

The bad news just continue coming.

My investments in US, HK, SG stocks are (overall) profitable but my MY stocks (with 2-3 exceptions) are in the red, some blood red.

Anyway, I don't own Genting stocks but have small positions in Prestariang and Dnex.
*
What is your outlook on Pres and DNEX ? I seem to like DNEX but heart pain everytime see it drop. Pres seems like a good punt if government does not kacau their SKIN project

In this market situation, no use predicting the outlook of any company lah  tongue.gif  I've seen so many stocks, analysts and 'gurus' predicting very rosy outlook, in the end what happened?

I think it's important to keep a diversified, well-thought out and well balanced portfolio.

If there's a ceasefire/'kicking the can down the road' with regards to the US-China trade war (should know this Sunday), I'll keep both Pres and Dnex in my portfolio.
*
Yikes, Prestariang down 30% today, glad I didn't get on it..

I Already sensed the project will be cancelled by PH. Just waiting For their announcement only. If You know How they got their projects during BN era You Would sell After PH took over. You need to be smart in share investment and insider info
*
Hahaha cutie, you must be very rich with your insider info and being 'smart in share investment'. As i said, i cant sell as i never bought .

Lawak? You have to be realistic on What is happening on the ground. My comment is a fair comment. Sometimes If You dont understand I wouldnt blame You. Try to think further. Dont Just See the outward only But also surrounding circumstances. insider info is a Good Indication on the company's direction. You sit in the BOD You would know lots of hanky panky going on.
*
If I was sitting in any BOD. Anyways , thanks for your insightful tips! Hopefully you can share more insider info in this thread

Sure everyone will appreciate it smile.gif

If really want to invest in O&G sector, my suggestion is go for the most upstream player, like Petronas (we can't invest as it is non-listed), Shell, Exxonmobil etc, they will instantly reap more profit once oil price going up.

While most listed O&G companies in KLSE are on service/contract based one, so even oil price shoot to USD80~100, they may not benefit from it as contract profit margin is not as lucrative as it was.
Crude oil price up /= contract profit margin up.

Upstream companies nowadays are more careful in capex and more cost prudent as compared when oil price was more than USD100 time.

Those O&G service sector, the main issue is their debt, as oil related work is always capital intensive, so plenty of them are rely on heavy debt to finance their work. So watch their debt level and cashflow.
The main issue is cashflow and debt refinance, not about oil price high or low for those company at current situation.
*

My recommendation for just pure oil play is Hibiscus. Cashflow seems to be decent and no debt if not mistaken .

Been holding since 0.60 cents

Whats the reason AA were dropping other thn oil price factor at last quarter?
I read their financial report for last 5 years everything seems good

Looks good on paper but analysts predicted even better profits if I am not mistaken.

Special dividend announced also was less than expected .

Might be another genm, even overall is good but sentiment is bad.

Might be beginning of bear market, might be the end of a bear market. Here is something for everyone to ponder on. Found it on reddit

most people (including you) won't know they are in a recession until towards the end tail of the recession.
most people (including you) will always believe it can further go down, so will wait one extra day, one extra week, one extra month.
most people (including you) will wait to see if it will relapse after it bounced back, so will wait one extra day, one extra week, one extra month.
most people (including you) won't know they are in a bull market until towards the end tail of the growth period.
most people (including you) will decide it is best to wait for the next recession.
most people (including you) will come to reddit and seek confirmation of missing out.
most people (including you) will ignore the recommendations of fellow redditors that time in the market beats timing the market.
and so like most people (including you) will just simply rinse and repeat.

No, fundamental not incl. growth. I don't see any other rating system. Unless you use Bursa Marketplace which give it a rating of 10/10.
*
Would you mind sharing the rating for Hibiscus since you entered ? Thank you very much .

Considering to top up as well

I got bloodbath from PTRANS, K1 and Hibiscus, hoping 2019 can fully recover. so many pain oledi..........

Just read on the news about O&G price prediction for 2019, now start thinking to put some bullet on Reach/SAPNRG/Perdana or should I top up Hibiscus to lower down my current avg price... but Hibiscus now 0.84 ... even if the price up to rm1.00 still cannot recover my loss........ haizzzz
*
I believe corelation of Hisbiscus and oil price higher than the other companies. Nil debt level as well and still quite attractive.
