Today exited AirAsia at 3.42 and entered Prolexus at 1.16. Prolexus has a near-term catalyst of Shariah compliance re-inclusion, while a longer term sustained growth trajectory thanks to the new Vietnam factory (growth in topline) and Malaysian fabric mill (margin expansion). It's selling at a very cheap multiple (earnings and book) if you consider the growth potential in the mid-term.

QUOTE(wayne84 @ Sep 12 2017, 12:35 PM) Yes, bcos they are possible of bonus issue and for sure the business will be good yr2017 & 2018. they are only 2 reason for value investor as indicator to sell. 1. stock fundamental changed. no longer sustain growth. 2. u found a better counter with mush higher potential growth. Quite silly to get someone to average up at these levels for VS. P/BV is quite steep at 2.93X, with ROE at just 12%. Sure it may trend higher, but the risks are substantial. The value is not compelling at all.

QUOTE(lowya @ Sep 11 2017, 08:22 PM) these theme rotation game i have not fully understood how it actually works and where it all started and how long it's going to last, I was wondering if anyone like to share an idea how it come about? And yet no theme rotator managed to keep their records intact over long periods. In fact, their unbrindled greed will be their undoing in times of market turmoil. As Buffett would say: "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked." Don't get too excited. Theme rotators come and go. A value investor who sticks to his game should always win out over the long term.

QUOTE(Holiao909 @ Sep 17 2017, 10:53 AM) Hi guys, Any comment on SKPRESS (7155)? I understand VS and SKPRESS are in the same industry and VS has been growing leaps and bounds this year. In the case of SKPRESS, it has not been relatively the same? Fundamentals are solid though Any comments are welcomed Quickly glancing through the financials, both seem overvalued for now. Very little margin of error. VS seems a tad more overvalued than Skpres.

What happened to O&G stocks today? Haha.
It always pays to be where stocks are most undervalued. I personally am only exposed to Armada and Mhb, not much action today.
Not too long from now....a rally in small cap property stocks, possibly in 6 months time. Buy value there if possible.
Tomorrow I will top up on Tchong and Prlexus.
On my tab is Ajiya, Cwg, Tambun, Glomac and top up of Mhb (this one sadly very strong run up, but fingers crossed it goes back down sometime soon).

Bought a large amount of CWG-OR today (CWG Holdings Berhad). Will be subscribing to their rights issue. So my entry price will be at RM0.505. Long-term holding. Looks very good. This is a multi-bagger in my opinion over the next 3-5 years. Did all research/due diligence. I believe I paid a very good price to enter.

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Sep 21 2017, 07:05 PM) what was that bet you made with Vanguard 2015? how did it go? Armada vs Lctitan. I bought at 0.685 so it's nearly up 10%. He's sold out already though at around 10% based on negative news flow. I think the best was for 2-3 months, still has time to run.

QUOTE(Holiao909 @ Sep 28 2017, 09:33 PM) Hi Guys, I was just browsing Gamuda's latest released quarter report and was pondering on someting. I am not from an accounting or finance background - so my question may seem a little stupid but does anyone know why Gamuda excludes its earning from the MRT project in the quarter report? In the report it says "Pursuant to the Financial Reporting Standard (FRS) 11, Joint Arrangements, the revenue of joint venture companies (eg. KVMRT-PDP works) is excluded from the Group's revenue. Instead the Group only recognises its share of profits of the joint venture companies" In the report, its total revenue does not include the contribution of KVMRT project and also i cant find the contribution of "share of profits of joint venture companies" Anyone can help to shed some light hahaah? I believe JV's are no longer reported in the topline figure but are included in the bottomline. It doesn't have to say "share of profits of JV company" per se. They can just consolidate the profits in one go. Sometimes even this profit is not reported/consolidated, only thing that is consolidated is the dividend income received from the JV. So it really depends. There are many ways you can approach this. I personally have not and will not look at Gamuda's financials so I cannot pinpoint the methodology they have used. Tomorrow time to top up into Tchong.
Sold off my Parkson. Currently I am holding Cwg, Armada, Mhb, Tchong, Prlexus and Hevea. Looking to cut off Hevea and channel it into Mhb soon as well. I plan for the rest to be very long term holdings (2+ years). Strong on my radar are Tambun and Ajiya. Maybe even Glomac. But I won't likely add a new position until December when my bonus is in. Focus on a small but powerful long-term portfolio. Balance between so-called fallen giants and cheap growth companies.

I'm almost done fleshing out my portfolio for the long-term. Now all that remains is to sell my Hevea and buy some more of Mhb (assuming it doesn't run above RM0.775).
Armada 10.77% Esceram 1.42% Hevea 8.38% Tchong 13.02% Mhb 7.68% Prlexus 7.86% Cwg 50.88%
The above is my current portfolio allocation on a market value basis. I subscribed to a large amount of Cwg shares via the rights issue. That's why it takes up such a large portion of my portfolio. But I will add more to Mhb and Tchong over time (as long as the share price doesn't run up) and by middle of next year I plan to bring CWG down to 33% of my portfolio allocation (on a cost basis) by buying more of my existing positions or buying into new positions. Monitoring Ajiya, Tambun and Glomac as potential candidates for a new position towards the end of the year as the bonus rolls in.

QUOTE(lowya @ Nov 7 2017, 04:42 PM) lets see how Genting can close today. GENTING AMBANK NOTION AJI which one your pick? No comments on the rest, but what do you see in AJI? I see it as a widely overvalued stock. None of the fundamental metrics look good. You’re paying a premium for what exactly?

Tan Chong still nobody interested in ah? Selling at less than 0.37x P/BV wor. The risk reward on offer here is amazing. New models out next year. I think could well be a two or three bagger within 3-5 years.

I just got some more of CWG today.
Currently my portfolio is extremely concentrated...holding just CWG (~50%), MHB (~25%), TCHONG (~15%) and ARMADA (~10%).
Today was a pretty red day across my watchlist.
