QUOTE(MinGR @ Dec 29 2020, 08:03 PM) My celcom always getting 2-3 bars in my apartment, condos and restaurant, is every user having this same issue? 2-3 bars in malaysia is considered good and acceptable. too costly for telcos to maintain full bar everywhere.

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Jan 2 2021, 04:55 AM) It's not "crazy" over VoLTE, it's just more people are starting to know the importance of it... Better call quality, internet connection won't be disrupted during phone calls, battery life won't be drained because it maintains at 4G instead of switching back and forth to 3G This is a tech from like 7 years ago, people should've went "crazy" for it from the start (when YES started to launch it here back in 2016), but then not much awareness was given so many didn't really care until recently, basically Malaysia is very late to implement this old tech completely. I seriously doubt you would want to use 2G for your voice calls, and that's probably not something that the government wants you to be using for your daily needs anyways cuz some tech stuffs like older card terminals etc. still need to rely on 2G, that's why the government is aiming for 100% 4G coverage nationwide in populated areas. i force my smartphone to 2g when i'm not using data. and for my nice numbers and foreign numbers that i intend to keep, i put the sim cards into my nokias correction. it's not crazy, it's a craze. QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jan 2 2021, 12:27 PM) It’s not about obsession but it’s adopting new technology. Why would you want to stick to the older technology if the newer can be better and cheaper? i don't chase tech. i stick to what that works well for me.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Mar 7 2022, 06:53 PM) change IMEI to pretend to be phone. but your traffic signature seems to be generated by non-phone devices. Windows, Mac, decoders, .... tethering over phone seems allowed. see previous post. traffic signature will still be non-phone. i'm more concerned that changing imei may be against the law as in some countries. QUOTE(JLA @ Mar 7 2022, 08:30 PM) wait for this sms / email how much is the FUP? i plan to use mainly for WFH and don't intend to do 4k video streaming or massive downloading.

I have a celcom xpax inside an android phone. When forced to 2G only, it got good signal but showed Umobile. I have another nokia candybar with yoodo sim in it but it can't get any signal.
Anyone can explain what I experienced? Is it that Celcom is riding on Umobile 2G network but Yoodo is not permitted to use Umobile? AFAIK, Umobile didn't have 2g network.

QUOTE(NagaK @ Jun 28 2024, 11:41 AM) I'm using CelcomDigi Prepaid Edisi Biru when I forced to 2G it's connected and changed as Digi. It might Yoodo Celcom riding same network on 2G under core network if same 2g network, then cannot explain why digi has line and yoodo doesn’t. i also noticed that sometimes yoodo/celcom would swing from no line to full bar and back. is celcom doing something funny with their 2g network? did they put their 2g transmitters in power saving mode??
