not always the diffusser
color change due the bounced light from the environment the wall, the ceiling

Warm is nice. The fact that the light is not directly shot on the object gave room for ambient light to blend in, another reason why people choose to use slow sync for flash. You need to bump up exposure compensation when diffusing with internal flash. The internal flash simply doesnt have enough power to light the whole enviroment
