Hi guys - the battery in my Nexus 6P is f**king awful right now after about 1-year++.

It only lasts about 12+ hours and it's really annoying to keep bringing my powerbank everywhere I go, so I've started having to charge the phone whenever I can. This is made worse by that stupid bug that switches off the phone when there's still well over 20%+ of battery left.

So I was thinking about paying for a battery replacement - the phone is still very very good, it's just that the bad battery is spoiling the experience. Does the Huawei service centre in Malaysia offer battery replacements? If so - how much does it cost and how long does it take?

Called the Huawei Service Centre:

RM60 for new battery
RM60 for labour (free if you have warranty)
+GST

Must leave the phone with them for 4 days minimum

Nexus 6P owner with the exact same dilemma sad.gif My 1year old phone is also having crappy battery life and it sometimes does an early shutdown around 30%. This seems to be a very widespread issue for this phone, so do update once you've done the battery replacement. I was also considering having it done - but 4 days seems pretty long >__<

The price you mention seems to check out as this is the same as what's published on the Huawei Malaysia website:

Hi all I am also a Nexus 6P user which I had been using for 18 months and last week it began to shut down abruptly at 10~15%, it was fine before this. I approached Lazada as I bought it from them but they say the warranty had passed and there is nothing they can do but refer me to Huawei. I called up Huawei and they say they must first do a diagnostic test which will cost RM25 because the warranty is over and further charges will be based on what's the cause be it hardware or software. They also recommended me to reset my phone to see if it solves the problem, which I didn't because I don't think it is the cause.

Assuming it is a battery problem and based on the calls to Huawei the minimum estimated amount to replace an original battery would be RM25 (diagnostic fee) + RM60 (labour fee) + RM60 (battery) = RM145. Do you all think it is worth it to get it replaced?

Lol can't skip diagnostic fee ? tell them its battery problem and you want the battery to be changed only.

Not a choice you have do you? Except you buy a new phone haha
Else just buy the battery and replace it yourself if you have the tools

And I wonder is it really battery's issue or software?

my 6p battery drained drastically recently, sometimes it drained all battery after a night even after fully charge before sleep.

i didn't update it to nougat and using stock OS. i check the cause of battery drain was from Cellular Network Signal, i quick google and found this is a bug from android which cause the phone keep looking for cellular network, the problem still persist even after update to nougat

does anyone know how to resolve this issue other than replacing the battery?

Sorry for late reply, jz busy to outstation work..

so far is jz back to 70% of good condition compare to new phone condition !!
..before it worst.. it start to drain when i unplug early morning 7am.. it will drop to 60 over percent ard 11am... ( without heavy use.. jz normal checking whatapps.. sometime not even a call in or out..) then before 1pm.. i must start charge .. coz when is fallto 30 over percent it will auto shut down anytime...

but now after change .. battery level condition quite ok.. up to 3pm noon.. it still got ard 40 percent plus...

after replacing the battery i got a critical problem, it will auto shut down at any percentage of battery level, when play big consume power games app.. or camera app etc. duno is hardware issue, or techinician installation issue or the battery compatible issuie...well.. i jz move to note 8 this few days.. hmm.. may b i shld try Factory RESET on my nx6p...

Will gv a try this few days ... after i confirm all the backup is done !!

cheers !!! icon_rolleyes.gif

guys, i just changed the battery at huawei SC for RM124.

3 hours done at Huawei SC Plaza berjaya, no need to wait 4 days.

Batt + installation.

So far so good.

previously my normal usage would last me around 5 hours and shuts down when around 30%

----------------------------------

update:

10 hours normal usage and still 35% left.

Huawei Malaysia just announced this. I think we can change our battery with free labor and diagnosis fee till 2017 year end.

** Update: Nexus 6P is not eligible for this promotion. Sorry.
