Seeking for help on my home setup please.
Devices that I have got:
- Alcatel Fiber Optic Converter Modem, provided by TM
- ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router
- TP-Link Deco M4 AC1200
About my home:
- Long layout with about 2000 square feet, double storey
Objective:
- I want to extend WiFi signal to the rear end of the house as much as possible
- Rear end of the house has Astro Ulti Box, IPTV, some other WiFi connection required devices
- I wanted to use both pieces of Deco M4 as Access Point, or WiFi extender
What I have done:
- Alcatel Fiber Optic Converter Modem connected to ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router through LAN cable, internet is working perfectly fine
- Downloaded TP-Link Deco App into my iPhone
- I setup 1st unit of Deco M4 with another LAN cable connected from ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router, successful
- I setup and added 2nd unit of Deco M4 without LAN cable, successful
- Both Deco M4 units are having one WiFi SSID Name
Help Needed:
- Whenever I disconnect LAN cable from ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router to the 1st Deco M4, 1st Deco M4 becomes no internet
- Is there possibility to setup 1st Deco M4 to obtain wireless connection from ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router without a LAN cable? That would help with cable management
- If 1st Deco M4 is able to connect wirelessly to ASUS RT-AC1300UHP Router, then I can move the 1st Deco M4 unit to one room at down stair, while 2nd Deco M4 unit placing at rear end living room which gives stronger signal and bandwidth to ground floor
Thank you!
