I bought an AX50 router to replace my Asus AC1200G using Maxis fibre. Problem is the VOIP in not working. When I used my Asus router I just connect the Maxis Archer c5v to lan 3 and voip is working. On the AX50 the VOIP is Lan 4 but when I connect the c5v all i get is a whining sound when I dial the phone. I have tried Voip Vlan 821 and 822 but neither work.

Called Tplink today. Can confirm Ax50 does not support voip even though setting is visible in the maxis menu. So I have a 1 week old Ax50 for sale if anyone interested. I still find it a great router with good signal throughout the house.

Hello, you can retain the existing router and disable the Wi-Fi and set as Access Point.
Not every routers support VOIP besides the stock router.

Thanks.

I don't like the stock router. It does a very lousy job of managing the clients. I am currently using an Asus router as main router with the Maxis c5v connected to lan 3(Asus default voip). The c5v is just for voip and nothing else.

Does The AX73 support Maxis VOIP? Meaning connect ONU=>AX73=>maxis c5v=>phone. My current Asus router just have to plug the maxis c5v into Lan3 of the Asus router for VOIP to work.
