Hi, wanna know C7 and C9, which one better in terms of range.
For 2 storey house for BT, CCTV and phones usage. (unifi turbo 300mbps)

If C7/C9 is not enough then only consider top up to C3150. Any recommends?

All 3 are really good routers and definitely able to perform up to 300Mbps at close distance.

However, if you want good performance when you are further from the router, the C3150 will beat the C7/C9 due to the much better signal penetration.

Thanks.
How about C7 or C9? Which 1 is better? I read through posts mostly recommend C7 V4 and C9 hardware is old.
But if i read review, seem like C9 have better hardware and signal confused.gif

That was me, I presume that say C9 is old? C9 is better than the C7.

You can get the newest version of the C9 now from Ookas, but be aware that the firmware is EU version, and as such, the 5GHz channels are very limited.
*
Thanks for reply.
Haha, didn't remember it's post by you cause read too many post.
EU version have better CPU and ram, but is also support unifi. right?

Limited channel i think is big impact if use in landed, i guess will less conflict with other houses confused.gif

The Archer C9 performs significantly better than C7 in testing and real world performance. wink.gif

Of course, I am a huge fan of the C3150 due to the superb performance.

Ohh, thanks for sharing.
Then my choice will be wither C9 or C3150 (if have budget) rclxms.gif

thks for the recommadation...
but that model review not that positive, wifi seem not stable...

Been using C2300 since February until now.
Wifi range 2.4ghz can cover 2 storey house. 5ghz can cover same floor with fast speed.
So far router very stable even with torrent.

My upstairs living room quite hot and bad air flow during day time.
So i bought cooler master laptop fan to cool down the unifi modem + C2300.
Without that, not sure will have overheat issue or not.

Will the 5ghz band have sufficient speed between first floor and ground floor?
*
I'm using C2300, router located first floor center living area.
For 2.4ghz, no issue to cover whole house.
For 5ghz, no issue to cover full 1st floor. But still not able to cover ground floor.
Originally i think to use 5ghz but since it can't cover at ground floor. I connect 2.4ghz now.
*Router is very stable and strong signal so still no regret.

I think it is limitation for 5ghz to cover different floor.
Not sure mesh router can solve this or not.

Thanks for sharing, I also think that the its somewhat limitation of 5ghz band. That's why will only consider the c3150 if going with router upgrade option since is 4 antenna for signal.
*
If you wish to have 5ghz full coverage for multiple floor.
I don't think even C3150 can do that. As C2300 is like slim down version for C3150 in hardware spec.

C2300 3 antenna and C3150 4 antenna, there isn't much device support 3 or 4 antenna in real life eg. phones etc.
C3150 might have better coverage than C2300, but i think that is limited improvement where you still can't get 5ghz coverage full house due to multiple floor.
*As you wish to have 500mbps internet where only 5ghz able to achieve

Therefore, mesh router option will be better to achieve 5ghz signal better coverage.

By default it is ticked. You need to go to advance setting.
Click wireless, click 5ghz and you can see on the bottom enable mu mimo. Untick that and feel the difference

Oh. Thanks. Found it.

Hi, may i know if my place does not have unifi coverage yet.
Only streamyx or unifi lite at the moment.
May i know what is the best option to expand the wireless to 3 storey house? For now and future if unifi available.
Eg. Can use mesh like deco m9 plus to share from streamyx/unifi router is possible? And direct use deco m9 plus when unifi available.

Hi, may i know I'm using tplink c2300.
If i get deco m4 or m5.
I can use c2300 as router and turn off wifi.
Then use deco m4 or m5 connect to router as ap mode for mesh wifi. Right? Both m4 or m5 is support ap mode right?
