QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jul 3 2017, 09:50 PM) C5400 is basically the C3150 with an extra 5Ghz band. Unless you really need the extra band, the C3150 is more than enough. Both have good signal reception. As for switch, there's not much difference in their dumb switch range. Just specs difference. Get at least a Gigabit switch and the number of ports you need. C3150 = 2167+1000 C5400 = 2167+2167+1000 for term of wifi coverage, which one will your recommend ? The router will be at 2nd floor, while 1st floor currently using RE450. However, wifi signal sometimes seems unstable. House radius around 12k sf. This post has been edited by Raymond T.: Jul 3 2017, 10:05 PM

Currently using UniFi 800Mbps and TP-Link Deco X20 (3 Unit).
However, wifi speed is still not impressed around 50 Mbps - 300Mbps range.
House coverage around 11k sf.
Is there any recommendation to upgrade ?

QUOTE(Omochao @ Apr 21 2024, 05:12 PM) Go for Tri-band mesh. If budget is not an issue. But if I were you, I lay the cables and get AX3000 rated and above , for example Deco X50 and with the savings from using a Lan cable, I can get more nodes, either used or new ones. You mean get X50 and pull Lan cable to connect all the deco ?

QUOTE(Omochao @ Apr 21 2024, 07:45 PM) yes. Better and more stable. X50 newest update has better QOS management, I'm not sure how many devices you will be expecting to connect to the deco but 11ksqft , I'm pretty sure averagely per day 20-30 at normal usage. i see … if buy x50 can link with old x20 ?
