CX-3 all the way..
Both also small SUV, but XV seem a bit bigger.. CBU made is far more refine compare CKD.. but both NVH are average, did saw at Shorty5 place doing sound insulation for XV, really thin carpet below, same case for roof too.. As for maintenance, i think CX3 has the upper hands, but i heard got 2 option for warranty right? - 3 years full free service or 60k km - 5 years warranty but not free.. |

Both are good choices. The Subaru has some great discounts so it will definitely be cheaper. The Mazda is more premium inside but it's also smaller. I guess it just depends on your priorities.

Another thing to consider is AWD vs FWD. But it doesn't really matter if you drive on normal roads.

Cx3 is so small at the rear and suspension is pretty stiff. Cx3 price I can go for the Xtrail or probably even the new CRV. Xtrail is so much more better looking and a better car to drive and interior space is great with great design and can seat 2 person at the 3rd row XV is pretty old but it's looks good on the outside but I dislike the inside (too plasticky) Wait for the new XV or go for HRV instead Otherwise Forrester since now got promo at RM116k I think. Much more beautiful and solid car both inside and out Not considering Tucson? It's probably the quietest of the bunch and quite a solid car to drive also not sure if now got promo or not This post has been edited by jacobngen87: May 26 2017, 07:37 AM |

QUOTE(tom_tombak @ May 26 2017, 07:38 AM) Yes, the koreans has the best refinement in the segment.Just get the car that you hearts tells you to (within your financial range), getting advice from someone that is not paying the loan and living with the car is prone to opinion bias. Just go test drive both cars as much as possible with the routes that you're most familiar with alongside your family and/or your outdoor equipments. Please forget about resale value if you're driving it for long term (>7 years). If cannot get over it, just go buy land or get a fully depreciated car. The 2 brands that you fancy also have a below average resale market. QUOTE(Zot @ May 26 2017, 07:44 AM) I heard many bad stories on Hyundai on engine and parts also not that cheap...... but who talk about good news anyway Ya so many, but how many did you verify the details of it? All car parts now are expensive regardless of brand because of our shitty exchange rate, unethical business people who find every opportunity to raise prices and the monopoly of some "industry leaders". If you know where to source own parts, the cost are similar and at times can be lower than the Japanese. Korean cars from 2010 are equally or better reliability mechanically wise, it is just the perception carried down from the olden days when they started with crap boxes. Their aim is to out-compete the japanese counterparts, so naturally they will strive to punch above their own weight in this field. This post has been edited by wkc5657: May 26 2017, 11:23 AM |

As much as I love how the CX-3 GVC drives, I find it very hard to recommend. Yeah to me it's the most beautiful subcompact crossover, driving dynamics is the best in its class and power is very good,BUT its just not a very practical car. Space is super limited, maintenance would be higher than competitors, mainly due to the 18 inch tires, its not comfortable for long drives AND the biggest problem with it is the price. The GVC facelift is 138k with a 1k rebate now. For that price you can go for a larger higher segment CX-5 or a 7-seater X-trail.
Haven't tested the Subu XV, but just sitting inside can feel its a lot more spacious and practical. My suggestion to you is to test drive both and see if the CX-3's driving dynamics is that important to you or not. |

CX-3 backseat is really cramped..... I think only kids are able to sit at the back comfortably. Unless in car there are only you and your wife/gf.

Don't exaggerate mate , it's the same dimensions as a Mazda 2 , I'm average 165 and fit comfortably even behind myself |

QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ May 30 2017, 01:55 AM) that's one of the problems to me!!!!i mean you pay so much more, end of the day, its a mazda 2 on stilts (with admittedly a really pretty body). You look at it from far and you get your expectations up, as you walk closer, you realize.... "hmm abit smaller than i thought" and then you open the doors, at that point its just amusing how small it really is! |

XV is a good choice esp given the discounts.
Cx3 is cbu so kinda very expensive for a small interior car XV with AWD and boxer engine is an enthuasist car. So it has its own special charm however Subaru business is so slow i am not even sure they will be in business in msia in the next few years CX3, might as well pay a little more get CX5. But that's my personal opinion |
