Is your dent that worst? Would you mind to share a litlle bit of photo? We could clarify it from here. You could give Applecare a call to ask them regarding this issue. Which is 1-800-803-638 . If you mention once you send it in the item is inside warranty, you shouldnt be paying any cent for sending it in. And bruh try to send it in to midvalley machines.

Mac City was BAD since 2010 when I send in my MBP 15 charger (Back then an 8k machine) for warranty due to wire cover split after a few months, but they accused me of purposely ripping it off to claim warranty or someone must have tripped on it and damaged it, so warranty voided. No more business for Mac City ever since then.

Just speaking from my POV since i deal with Apple for quite a while.

On top of everything, iPod and iPad is not repairable even if it is just a small issue like home button isn't functioning, the repair will be based on whole-unit replacement, and thus the reason why they rejected to honor your device for warranty claim due to your physical dent, and yes it is stated on the Apple Limited Warranty T&C under the (B) section of "WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY?". (if you asked how the other member mentioned his/her device was claimable for the battery issue even with cosmetic dent, since his/her problem was solvable by same-unit repair, it is claimable.)

To me it seems like MacCity handled the warranty rejection unprofessionally and thus leading to this issue, always contact AppleCare if you faces issue with Apple Authorised Service Provider/Premium Service Provider, complaining to their higher management will not solve the issue as in the end, they are not Apple afterall.

Incase you are wondering, there is no Apple in Malaysia except for the office in Menara CIMB which doesn't handle after-sale service.

I'm not in anyway affiliated with Apple, so there might be wrong information in this post, as mentioned above, always contact AppleCare if you faces issue with their product.

they were nice when I bought my macbook in 2009-2010, also they helped me to do the warranty claim for swollen battery and later failed harddisk without much problem. Not sure if it was because my ACPP expired, or something changed in the middle (they expanded their business considerably), they stopped being nice and helpful when i sent my swollen battery in again for another replacement (after ACPP expired, and swollen battery was regarded as a manufacturing defect back then). Then I stopped buying Apple products for my own personal use.
