@croomaniac
1. Have you called Apple as I suggested earlier? Since your warranty claim is with them, and not a MacCity product, I think you should call them first.
2. When you call Apple, ask them to confirm that MacCity is allowed to charge for inspection fees.
I called that number to no avail, but i googled and got another number. So I got to talk to the Apple reps..
Anyway, to an update, I got a call from the manager late on the afternoon saying that they have made a management meeting yada yada and waived my RM50.. Initially it was RM100 but what they told me the other hand was RM50. I was kinda shocked because:
[1] They refused to send me any email. YES. Because when they send me the email, I will write in length about what had happened yada yada. That leave them with a black and white evidence, which they took it easily by just call me, not emailing
[2] To waive RM50 of cancellation fee needed a management meeting? That would take maybe a bunch of guys - maybe 5 of them, that may require 1 hour at least, which can be counted as 5 man hours, with a minimum (roughly) RM100 per man hour which transelate to RM500 worth of manpower (at least) just to decide to waive a RM50 cancellation fee?
[3] They didnt mention about the warranty length of the devices which was under their possession and to assist me for the repair
Hurmm.. Continue with the apple reps:
[1] They can help me about this matter but need me to take the item back from Mac City
[2] They can't confirm on can help but at least they can try
End of apple reps guy. I will take back the ipod anytime soon (hopefully tomorrow) and will contact back them to further assist me.
All of the issues may not happen if i bring the ipod to Machines, well at least they don't do shit like this to me before. I've sent few of my devices for repair and replacement, with no question asked and with proper manner and promises. Just no where near what Mac City had been doing to me. I am totally frustrated with what they have done to me. No more Mac City for me.
