So i just rebuilded my desktop inside a case this time but i changed the motherboard and cpu but nothing change on the hdd, i powered it on goes into bios just fine, with latest bios for the asus p5p43td pro, but it does not boot into windows, it just stuck at the blue windows logo with nothing happening,so i cleared the bios,re-update the bios, then tried to clean install windows because generally you need to clean install after motherboard changed, so i tried to clean install using both bootable usb and dvd to which none of that work, when i press any button for it to boot from usb or dvd, it seems like the installation of windows is starting with the blue windows logo on the screen, but after few seconds it just restarts the pc and thus i cannot get into windows or clean install windows now, before rebuilding my pc the hdd is running fine with windows 10. also switching the ide/ahci option remains the same

spec:
cpu: intel xeon x5460 hard modded to lga775

motherboard: asus p5g41t mlx (before rebuild)

asus p5p43td pro (current mobo)

ram: corsair 2x2gb

psu: corsair vs650

gpu: sapphire hd7970 ref

chassis: segotep k6

try wipe the HDD partition first, see if the installation disk got the option to do so, I think windows 10 don't let you overwrite existing windows

what's your bios settings? legacy bios or uefi? what is your install media? (dvd? usb formatted with fat32, or ntfs?)

the symptom of getting stuck at installation screen usually means wrong combo between install disk and bios.

I don't think you could just swap a drive to a new MB like that. It usually end up with issues or BSOD

If your old MB is running on legacy you need to use the same settings and if its UEFI then need to be the same too

Do you have more than 1 hdd in your system? It is good practice to unplug all the secondary hdds and leave only the hdd you want to install windows in plugged in when installing a fresh copy of windows.

Well my system is lga775 so no uefi all legacy, also was using 1hdd at a time, just swapped back to old mobo still same stuck at logo or automatic repair,if try to clean install windows 8.1 it just reboot won't install,is it because of my current os is windows 10 and i cannot clean install any os that's not windows 10? I seriously have no clue now, tried old mobo with old/new hdd and new mobo with old/new hdd still same bsod and there is an error 0x000000c4 flashing for less than 1 second when it reboots on the installation windows logo
