takamine are very good guitars. ive tried their high end ones(i cant remember which model but its over rm5k) and theyre very very impressive. personally i prefer a taylor acoustic over a takamine coz of the tone.

if i could sing i would be playing alot more unplugged stuff. i play more instrumental stuff so its almost impossible to perform for an unplugged session.

(but then thats why im trying to master fingerstyle and hybrid styles acoustic songs)

mine is set up for .012
definitely coz of tone. notes sound nicer, harmonics ring out, slap sounds better, hammer on somehow seems clearer, etc

fishman. there are a few at JS music. i just bought one, for the sake of one gig, which im only playing 3 songs on acoustic (and the rest on electric). theyre cheaper than dimarzio acoustic pickups but sound alot better too. might let it go after my gig, if ure interested.

any tips on keeping nails? and how to fully use it to get a nice sound especially when plucking.

soundcheck today i got someone to play my acoustic while i went out to hear from the house system. i'm impressed with my fishman pickups considering the price i paid for it. the string's character really came out nicely (so it means gotta stock up on more elixirs especially before shows).

whats buffing nails?

yeap big baby. fishman neo-d, very cheap, but kinda impressive for its price. have heard better pickups, but since i rarely perform with my acoustic, i wasnt willing to spend much on pickups (especially if its just one show and only a couple of songs on acoustic).

i didnt manage to use my pickups when i played an unplugged set on radio the other day. it was mic up. well, my big baby cut through the mix nicely.
