QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 22 2020, 01:12 AM) If I'm not wrong, for Malaysia, you can only see what's the market depth pre-open. There isn't a window for fixing the pre-market price. In SG, about 3-5 mins before market starts trading, it will fix a price for opening but in Malaysia, the price is determined based on the algorithm at open. Then got people always queue large block at very low price (sell) or very high price (buy) in order to match the market price at open. Not sure if I'm 100% correct. Below link is the algorithm from bursa to determine open price. Can you trade nasdaq from Rakuten?https://www.bursamalaysia.com/sites/5bb54be...Price__TOP_.pdf JackMao liked this post

Hi Rakuten, can you please help explain how your limit buy function work? I am new to trading.
Example just now dnex was 0.75 and bcs i had to go out and cannot monitor the market for the rest of the day i set the limit to sell at 0.71, But everything was immediately sold at 0.75. |

QUOTE(idkihavenoidealol @ Mar 8 2021, 02:05 PM) Limit orders are orders that will be executed at the price you set OR at a better price. If you are set SELL limit order at 0.710, the transaction will be executed with buyer who is willing to buy at 0.710 OR higher than 0.710 (For your case, if best buy was 0.75, your order was matched at 0.75, if best buy was 0.745, then your order was matched at 0.745, you can check at trade history). Example SELL scenario: I bought Stock A at RM 1.50, current price is RM 1.80. I wish to sell at RM 1.85 AT LEAST, so I will set SELL limit order at RM 1.85. This order is not immediately matched as current stock price is still at RM 1.80. But once it rises to RM 1.85 and above, then it will be matched. Example BUY scenario: I wish to buy Stock B at RM 2.50, and current stock price is RM 2.55. I set BUY limit order at RM 2.50 but it will only be matched IF the stock price dropped until RM 2.50 or below. These examples applies to LIMIT order. For MARKET order, the order will match whichever best price available at that time (BUY market order will match best seller price and SELL market order will match best buyer price) QUOTE(Rakuten Trade @ Mar 8 2021, 02:20 PM) Hi Riri. I saw your comment on this on another thread earlier. Like what most forumers mentioned, we do not have the cut loss function at the moment. Thank you for the reply, just wanted to confirm...Now i understand. Very happy with Rakuten platform The sell function you use earlier is the normal sell function which allows you to sell at the specific price you want (provided its higher than the sell price traded at that point of time, else it will be matched immediately if you place the sell price lower) |

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Apr 29 2023, 10:24 PM) 1. It is up to you whether to convert or not. The only thing when you convert make sure that the RM is strong hence you will get more USD then Thanks .2. Yes you need activate foreign stock activation before you are able to buy Us stocks. Can’t tell you where is wrong unless you are able to tell us the error message? 2. Yes already activated foreign stock, already bought few stock like google b4. I forgot the error code, but if it happens again will take note of it. My account is the basic cash up front account. |

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Apr 30 2023, 03:10 PM) I wouldn’t convert all at one go unless you know you are getting better rates 🤦♀️ anyway those FX spread you save no point because by the time you buy those US stocks with better spread already fly high and you missed out on the gains 🤦♀️ QUOTE(sl3ge @ May 2 2023, 09:38 PM) I think yes. wta I have already converted the money from myr to usd at the dashboard. Even after doing this when you buy and sell stock you still need to choose the US currency at the buy or sell page??? Bcs I see after making a trade I see my money have somehow turn back to myr???If u converted myr to usd, next time buy and sell it will always be in usd. No need convert again. |
