Dun worry about Fuji ... they will never hire pretty booth girls. They rather dress up their own female salesperson coz they always have this thinking where "If they can't SELL they're not SUPPOSED to be there!"

plz remember to check ur shutter... always...
from the ISO 800 case, waste jor liao ler...
u can get better quality if u reduce ISO to 200, if the shutter still not less than 1/60s...
last time i use flash shoot in ISO 1600, all pics gone case... doh.gif

is my aperture setting ok? i try to make it open so i can set faster shutter but in some parts of the fair, it really need to go down till 1/20sec to get decent exposure. i think the lowest ISO i can set there is 400 unless some areas are really bright.

i'll try to train my hand to handle 1/20sec though smile.gif

It's been a while since I post new pics, busy nowadays until no time to edit photos.

Upgraded my gear to D80 from D40.

Maybe it is too late to post the F1 pageant event at BTS,still using D40 with 50mm f1.8 without flash that time with manual focusing, so hardly can get the pis sharp.

Since nobody interested in B&W then i'll post my potrait shot in LYN for 1st time.

Taken yesterday morning at Botanical Garden, Penang, went for experimental myself.

Model : Yann

2 photos for the opening teaser 1st, 1 high contrast and another underexposed, lol....more to come.

I personally like #2 coz of the sunray, however when I realize the nice sunray, I quickly told the model to stand there and I too nervous and underexposed the model doh.gif

Quite hard for me to cure it in PP with my limited skill but I still try to post it up here.

C&C appreciated and more to come. notworthy.gif

thanks for viewing and the comment smile.gif

the fact is the 2nd pic, model is over underexposed made the pic hard to PP, I had 1 better exposure for the model but the background is too fake sweat.gif

i regretted the fact that i underexposed. as the words goes "Once the best moment is gone, is gone forever"

Err..i feel like ur editted pic too high contrast..nice try smile.gif

Correct ... you have to move about, sit down, gostan, lie down, squat, sit, cross the bridge, go inside water, climb up, climb down, bleed, sweat and kena burn by sun just to get a good composition!

Nairud ... you guys were all once like that, typical of newbies' behavior mah, especially when doing portraits. See lenglui already gabra, lagi compo out! tongue.gif

Viewfinder-wise definitely cannot help, he must get used to the crop factor in time. Those that come from the film generation can get used to the 'shrinking' of the view really fast. Those who started with DSLR will have to work harder lor.

Hey, Is this beach the secluded beach where the turtles lay eggs? The one with rangers patrolling to make sure no one picks them up? I've been wanting to go to that beach, but was told it takes a bit of trekking to reach it......

If u know Teluk Bahang or End of the World (to the end from Batu Feringghi), near the fisherman village there is a registration place and starting point for jungle trekking all the way to Pantai Kerachut

I think this should be the beach u are talking about. I only know there are turtles lay egg when i reach there doh.gif

Got a lot of baby turtles there wub.gif

Actually, the trekking is quite easy. If u din stop for photo along the journey like me, i think at most it gonna take 45mins.

The starting part is quite tiring but after that, it is quite easy to hike.

Or if u are lazy, u can take boat though laugh.gif

What race is that? Coz there are few types of races there, horse race, car race and even dog race sweat.gif

I know there is a grand prix (not sure) is going on there but not sure about the location, should be on Taipa land.

any constructive comments are welcomed.

my composition generally are quite normal, not up to the skill yet. somemore, during travel, hardly got time to adjust composition..more like point, shoot and move to next location. laugh.gif

yes, i did shoot raw but most of the photo i only adjust in +/- 0.3 bracket.

my purpose to shoot raw is only for WB as i quite scare to screw up my WB during travel where one place lighting condition can be very different from another when u move along.

I like the composition of #6. I would say your overall shots are good smile.gif
Just that the right photo of #4 is slightly over exposed, since you shoot in raw that can be easily fixed.

You can try to do something like this, reduce the brightness of both building and the sky. This is just a 5 min work.

normally i'm shooting jpeg but during travel, sometimes u hardly can technically perfect, coz u'll use it just like point and shoot, so shoot RAW if anything screw up, u can save it later, since u pay so much for ur travel.

Ok, i'm back after weekend..have to continue the series even though boring.

Day 6 - Shenzen

Well, why go to Shenzen? Of coz for massage Windows of the World.

Instead of calling it Windows of the World, i think it more suitable to be called Kingdom of Fake Wonders.

Chinamen really superb in copying things..that's why we have a lot of fake memory cards, fake Sony Ericsson phones, fake Mercs, fake Ipod and etc.. laugh.gif

#8 should be Arc de Triomphe located in Paris, France.
#13 is The Duomo in Milan, Italy.
#14 might be the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia.
#15 is Tower Bridge and NOT London Bridge in London, UK.
#16 is the Parliament Building in London, UK. It is also where Big Ben is located and you can see it at the background on the left of your picture.

most of the shots here a good, but to a certain extent, normal. But u're just sharing ur experience of traveling to places right? I love travel photography like what u showed here, but there's nothing technical or stand out from the norm..

It seems that u've gone to great places... i wish i had the resources to travel abroad...

Yaya, the most important thing in travel photography for me, is to capture other country scene, architecture, their culture and etc..

Hardly can do a good composition there because the time too rush (cincai shot also can't finish walk laugh.gif ) and too much disturbance by the crowd.

Well, if u patient enough to get a good composition it is a bonus.

The trip is too hectic i feel, tired and rush, carrying 8-10kg gears is not easy sweat.gif

Sure u can, now with AirAsia, everyone can fly laugh.gif

The Duomo is a cathedral. It is one of the largest in the world. Second largest IIRC. Sammi Cheng's movie "I want to marry a millionaire" was filmed there.

Big Ben is the clock tower at the Parliament Building.

You can check my photo thread in LYN to see European buildings as I've been there. I've just added Tower Bridge. More will follow soon.

For shots like this, try shooting raw or set your WB to something cooler or to the tungsten preset because AWB gets fooled here (happened to my d200 as well) smile.gif
