Hi yh, blackout roller blinds would be best suited for kitchen. Easily cleaned compared to other blinds

Hi dropped you a PM.

Also keen to know would blinds have sound insulation effect? Some of my rooms are facing the highway so reducing the sound would be good.

Hi Haka, blinds hv some insulation effect but not as good as curtains. You'll need a thick materials fabric with a higher curtain fullness to insulate the external sound.

This is based on my understanding from my limited experience.
I once helped an acoustician to furnish a hall with curtains to reduce the echo and reverberance
