TM just called me half an hour ago about the thank you speed upgrade. said they have set the appointment date for the technician to come upgrade speed this saturday.

from 50mbps to 100mbps btw.

what stuff do they need to change at my home? coz their riger router i ady cabut n factory reset, replaced with my Asus RT-N14UHP...should i put it back or something?

Recently noticed my 50M speed is always more than 50M.

My last few hours with UniFi. You shall be missed...

I have a 100Mbps connection but
I can never reach that kind of speed by wifi 2.4ghz.
max I can get is around 20-30Mbps only.

I can reach 100Mbps using lan and 5ghz
but many of my devices not compatible.

If you all can get that speed by wifi 2.4ghz
please guide me. Thank you

I like the way TM keep silent on upgrade speed. they just ignoring the streamyx users and unifi pro users. just nice tho.

serious? last time i am using copper telephone line by TM to call 100 is free woh.

now changed to VOIP the TM 100 is not free?

If it was charged then it will be very strange since copper line is totally free.

Finally I found someone who is having somewhat similar issue to me.. I am also having issue on certain website and app... like Mudah app... I totally cannot upload at all... but my issue happens to all my android phone.... same thing... when change go mobile data everything is ok... then on speedtest I can see the upload totally blocked too...

Here's the floorplan of my house. The red color line is the existing concealed ethernet cable:

The existing setup is quite simple:
1) BTU resides at the fiber box sitting next to house entrance
2) BTU connects to router through concealed ethernet cable which is the red color line
3) STB / TV / PS4 / everything else connects to router's ethernet port
However, here's what i'd like to enhance to have better wifi coverage and local gigabit network:
1) Move the router to the red spot marked.
2) Gigabit switches near the TV to handles everything else that can do wired internet

That create lots of headache because i dont really understand how switches handles VLAN tags:
1) From google it seems normal consumer level unmanaged layer 2 switches cant do VLAN tags
2) some review from Amazon on netgear switches claim that Netgear switch does in fact retain VLAN ID tags
3) Does this plan can even works? I'm not sure what's the behaviour when switches are daisy chained and how do they switches the data when VLAN are invloved.
(i.e. two different VLAN ID traffic are fed into one switch and piped to another switch then broadcast to respective MAC address)

From the router there's 2 traffic coming out of 2 different ports (Internet and IPTV) and i need to pipe them through a single cable that was already concealed inside the wall. Hence i thought a switch could do the job? no?
My router is Asus RT-AC88U, i think this model could handle vlan tagging just fine.
Thanks for the correction. My confusion is still when i feed both Internet and IPTV traffic into Switch 1, then pipe it to other end using a single cable and then split them out again using Switch 2, does it works at all?

At last, I got my 100Mbps free upgrade.weird thing is that my BTU is unchanged.still using the fast ethernet type.

Maximum speed is around 101Mbps.The installer just drops a new router DLINK 1200 AC since I already got my own router.

I need some advice from some of the experts here about Unifi installation.

Yesterday installer came to my house to install unifi lite but he wanted to charge me RM200 for overhead ceiling wiring. He said if you don't want to pay I have to drill holes in your wall but if you pay me, I won't drill holes in your wall & install the wiring nicely for you.

Is that guy bullshitting me or what? If he drill holes I don't have to pay but if he does the easier work that doesn't involve any drilling I have to pay him. Is the guy trying to cheat me or what?

Fortunately for me, before he could do anything he found that the ports were full in my area. So he couldn't do anything & I didn't have to pay him a cent.

So is the installer trying to cheat me? Please advise me before I lodge a complaint with TM about this installer.

thought is you pay me  then i will drill a small holes nicely pull up cable else will pull the cable  via the wall (cabling expose)

based on my experience, I only get max 5mb on LAN connection for the d/l. means I shared with 10 nodes.

Depends on your area, my area is 7 nodes shared

Just paid around 9:30pm the internet still not reconnecting

If available i think im on 500mbps by now lol
