QUOTE(DeepMemory @ May 7 2017, 11:59 PM) Anybody wanting to test the awesome HDR capable display can visit the link to download the video. Make sure to watch only using Samsung stock video player app. Enjoy http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=144 OMG! I just download that video and that video is a real HDR sample video. It is a very huge difference watching with HDR Enable and Without. Samsung own Video Player - HDR Enable. MX Player Pro - HDR Disable. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: May 8 2017, 03:05 AM |

QUOTE(PhakFuhZai @ May 8 2017, 10:17 PM) can't believe this Corning Gorilla 5 is not scratch proof than 4. It is even worst. its corning gorilla 5 for god's sake there's countless of scratch test videos on youtube showing that S8 can survive from many drops with minimal cosmetic deform 5 is more tough to break only not scratch. |

QUOTE(~C.W.S~ @ May 9 2017, 06:40 PM) My thought on s8 earphones. Note that I also own another RM400+ AKG earphones so some expectation will be there since some claim it cost 99$ price value similar price range. Agree the bass is not there and it do is very comfortable to wear.My honest opinions (please don't shoot me XD) Sound clarity: 7/10, some how the volume is slightly lower compare other individual sold earphones, but has OK sound clarity. Sound bass: 4/10, bass is definitely lacking for bass lovers. Noise isolation: 7/10, okay. Comfortable: 8/10, can immediately notice this earphone is quite comfortable to wear with its design. Build design & quality: 7/10, plus point on tangle free design wire up to split section but have to minus marks due to rest of wire using rubber and confirm wear and tear won't last long same with my another AKG earphones. Summary: Considering it is a earphones supplied together with phone the overall sound quality is noticeable better. Would say this is good earphones beside the sound bass and overall volume is really lacking for my personal taste. QUOTE(LordDenning @ May 9 2017, 05:35 PM) thoughts on the AKG earphones? I just test it. Here is my view of the bundle AKG earphones vs Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro vs Bose SoundSport.im currently using Xiaomi Piston 3, havent opened the AKG yet.. if not much difference im not gonna open it.. Bundle AKG earphones - Vocal - 6/10 (Due to high pitch, it make the vocal not that nice already) - Separation - 8/10 (Good separation) - Bass - 4/10 (Very very poor bass) - Treble - 6/10 (A lot of high pitch) - Overall - 6/10 (Still better a lot than iPhone 7 Plus bundle earphones but it is not a very great one) Mi In-Ear Headphones - Vocal - 7/10 (Good but not extremely great) - Separation - 7/10 (The worst separation among this three) - Bass - 9/10 (Very strong bass) - Treble - 8/10 (Good treble) - Overall - 8/10 (Combine all, it actually sound good) Bose SoundSport - Vocal - 10/10 (I had nothing to complain at all) - Separation - 9/10 (very good separation, no complain either) - Bass - 8/10 (Sometimes I prefer Mi In-Ear Headphones bass) - Treble - 9/10 (Very good and no high pitch issue at all) - Overall - 9/10 (Very enjoying listening to it) This post has been edited by Andrewtst: May 9 2017, 08:37 PM |

Finally purchase a new case for S8+ "Spigen Liquid Air"
The free case is way too slippery already which is danger to drop and full of finger magnet. ![]() ![]() |

Can't believe Samsung still did 75% resolution of the screen for games! Samsung did this previously as well.
Download Game Tuner and set to maximum quality - 100% screen resolution, now all my games especially those 3D games is run perfectly pretty than before. Also the 75% of screen resolution didn't improve the gaming performance at all. Lucky the Game Tuner still there and it work as it suppose to 100% screen resolution. ![]() |

QUOTE(hirota @ May 10 2017, 12:54 PM) Thanks for sharing this game tuner, after we set the game mode, every time we have to launch the games from this game tuner app only will apply to the game mode we set? Once set it is fix forever until you change something. Launching the games as usual. This app is just for applying the setting only. |

QUOTE(squall_kay @ May 10 2017, 01:18 PM) this morning installed the blue honeycomb from slickwraps. The slickwarp very nice! Thanks for sharing others nice case photo as well. the blue looks better than previous black that used to install on Pixel/S7edge [attachmentid=8803514] spent time to trimmed the clear coat (case version) for top and bottom side. although not perfect but good enough. at least can last while waiting for rev2 case version clear coat from mobile outfitters. [attachmentid=8803524][attachmentid=8803529] so now all my cases fit perfectly. previously only compatible with free samsung clear case, samsung alcantara and carved case. now ringke fusion, ringke onyx and spigen rugged armor fit perfectly. some feedback on cases: 1. the alcantara case have the nicest feeling when holding it. buttons tactility very good. only concern perhaps it can get dirty pretty fast. decent protection though. at least when lay down phone on screen side, the case's lips can protect the phone's screen. my favorite. [attachmentid=8803555] 2. carved is nice but with very poor button (power button) tactility which for me make overall user experience pretty poor. same case when happened for previous Pixel Carved case but for S7edge it was pretty good. decent protection. 3. ringke fusion - solid but slippery (oily hand). pretty good protection. one thing i dont like based on last experience, it can turn yellowish across the time, easy to get scratch at back side and kinda attract lint. 4. samsung free case. slim, slippery and decent. 5. spigen rugged armour and ringke black onyx; both felt solid, enough and good protection. ringke onyx corner side will have bigger lips compared to rugged armor thus need to further trimmed the clear coat. at least for me, preferred the ringke onyx over than spigen rugged armor. main reason, brushed looks and preferred the feeling when holding it. But the ringke tend to attract a little bit more lints compared to spigen » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

My small suggestion. Don't ever restore your phone from others phone backup.
Start it fresh and you will notice it run far better and no issue here and there and no battery drain issue. |

QUOTE(kevlim7 @ May 10 2017, 01:23 PM) Hi all s8 users, I'm experiencing battery drain problem while charging either on wireless charger or cable. Suggest you better check with the shop, something wrong.I'm encountered the first charging problem on third day after using it. At first, it charge a bit slow compared to another s8 owned by my gf that we used to charged at the same time and usage just -4%. Then, my phone stuck at 83% and going down to 82% and up 83% repeatedly. After restarted my phone, it going well til 100%. Today even worse, I left my phone charging overnight and after I got up I've found that my phone battery only at 90% and keeps draining no matter on wireless charging or original cable. Does anyone encountered the same problem? Need help here is there any solution? Thank you. |

QUOTE(emy_xvidia @ May 10 2017, 02:35 PM) I really love the 'separate app sound' function. Spotify BTed to my JBL Charge 3 while Whatsapp notifications sound off on the speaker phone. Uninterrupted music playback while not missing any notifications from whatsapp as well. Fantastic! This function is cool just it only allow one apps. Hope feature it can preset few apps auto out to selected device.A few days still enjoying exploring the stock features on the Samsung. Maybe this time around I'm gonna keep it stock all the way without rooting and custom ROMing on it. At least I think only this phone got this awesome function. |
