More than a year after loans are cleared, would banks still have access to historical data from the CCRIS when deciding on our card application?

What should I consider when given the option to raise my card limit? Got my third call in a month from 2 different banks. Said I'll think about it.

of the top of my head, hmm..think about the potential of you getting a loan (housing, car, etc) in the near future. These increased limits will 'eat in' into your overall total commitment amount eligible.

That... got it! Thanks!

It's already appeared in your CCRIS. Always make it a habit to call to cancel cards which you don't need.
*
fruitie, cards that come in a pair like the CIMB CR + Petronas/Tesco cannot be cancelled right? This is from the staff who called offering to increase combined credit limit for existing cards.

Tried calling card centre twice just now but on hold for too long. Will try again later this evening.

I have come across a few websites / apps that do not require OTP / TAC to confirm the CC transaction. Those are the ones that usually use foreign payment gateway. One way to prevent unauthorized transactions on sites that do not require OTP / TAC is to not enable CNP (Card Not Present) transactions. This way, all such transactions including MOTO (Mail Order Telephone Order) cannot go through. Only enable it if you need to use it.
*
Any ways to go about that? Or do we call CS every time? I know CIMB can allow/disallow overseas transactions but didn't notice any CNP.

Hey all,

I know we should give the bank a call if we plan to use the credit card outside Malaysia but what about online transactions paid to overseas entities?

Called CIMB and was told I no longer need to inform them of any overseas usage (online / physical). Transaction to the same outfit in Russia failed on Public Bank. I guess each bank has its way of going about such transactions.

But those planning to leave Malaysia for work or holiday, just call for peace of mind.

Will try on Steam and see what happens.

Well, honestly Quantum cards are good cards that worth keeping.

Nothing difficult with 12 swipes per year, just RM 1 online transaction also considered as swiping.

Anyway, the decision is yours.
*
sweat.gif Got a scare there. Checked back and indeed the Quantum and Petron cards are free for life without the 12 swipes requirement.

RM 36,000 Annual income, fulfilled both bank criteria. The only reason they gave me is I do not have any credit history.

The advice I got from here last time was to try with the bank into which your salary was credited.

Called MBB for card replacement but facepalming now as I forgot to enquire about charges.

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

Didn't mention anything on faulty chip. The last time I lost my wallet it was RM50. Anyone experienced replacing their card due to the same reason?

Has anyone here got their transaction rejected due to "frequency limit reached" after doing a paywave? PBB CS said 9x usage and I need to use pin 1x.

That limit applies to other banks too?

Hey guys, I got charged 5k+ charged to my credit card for some facebook ad. Dispute and request for card to be blocked were done. While waiting for them to sort out the issue and statement due date coming up, do I have to pay anything first?

Nowadays, most banks can do CC cancellation over the phone already.

And PBB has an option to cancel from within the internet banking site.

how to file, what the customer service told me is they are investigating on this issue, will revert after 60 days, is this consider dispute filed ?
*
Happened to me recently for the same crap but 2.5k. Call them and to dispute and you'll be given a reference number. Keep that. And after that it's just waiting for them to do the necessary stuff before the next statement. They sent SMS for any action that has been taken.

I went further by lodging a police report, enclosed it with their dispute form (stating the reference number above) and faxed it over to them.

Just curious, have you traveled overseas lately?

Got it. I travelled to Indo a few months before and used my CC but it could be coincidental. It's crazy how a [fraudulent] CNP transaction went through without the OTP being requested.
