I don't think so because i can apply loan i cant apply credit card

I wonder why Malaysia credit card so strict ...

I work in oversea too... i can apply loan to purchase my house and car in malaysia on same bank. Then they offer me free for life credit card because i got 2 loans with them then i apply ...in the end cant get through. I gave them my oversea income, oversea bank statement, oversea tax then local income. Everything request gave ...they even call my company in oversea to verify.

Then end of the day ask me put FD RM7k to get a credit card with credit limit RM7k ...what a joke ...and i reject.

You don’t pay your car and house loan, bank can repossess it.

You don’t pay your credit card, bank has nothing to repossess and worst still you are not working in Malaysia. If you can’t see the logic behind the 7k FD then the jokes on you.

Hi, regarding Maybank's 2 Gold cards (Visa & Amex), in Maybank2u online when I check on the details, each card has a given limit of 8000. Does that mean the total limit is 16k, or just 8k?
*
Combined limit. 8k only.

is hong leong essential card support FPP?
*
Depends on merchant.

If merchant don't have FPP then PBB cards have 0% installment for converting purchases into installment. Not sure the min. amount or tenure.

MBB also can convert but got interest.

EDIT: Upon checking HLB website, did not find any info for converting purchases into installment. Guess is a NO for FPP.

Hi guys, I got a few questions to ask. So I now got one hong leong gsc credit card with 4k debt including two easy payment plans on it which have another 6 months repayment. I was thinking of balance transfer to Maybank.

My questions are,
-Can you transfer over the easy payment plans as well? Or will it stick with the HLB credit card and only transfer rest of the balance over?

-does balance transfer affect my credit rating?
*
You can just BT 4k and let them deduct from your BT overpayment every month.

Or if you want to cancel your HLB card then you need to cancel the easy payment plan that might incur a penalty so it's better that you check with them first.

MBB BT doesn't required statement so you can BT any available credit you have.

will balance transfer affect my credit score?
*
No.

You are just transferring your debt (RM4K) from one bank to another bank.

At the end of the day your debt is still at RM4k.

What does it mean by statement cycle is on 18th of each month? Does it mean all transactions made up to 18th inclusive? Or all transactions posted up to 18th inclusive?
*
All transactions that is posted from 19th to 18th will be generated in that month of statement.

In other words, the key is posting date. So if swipe on 18th (i.e. transaction date) but merchant posts it on 19th, it gets reflected in the next statement. Yes?
*
Yes you are right.

For some it will get posted on the same day, like aeon supermarket using mbb cards. Always get posted on the same day.

Thanks! So a day diff may mean having to pay by the same cycle, or the next!

Swipe/posted on 18th July = payable by 7th Aug
Swipe/posted on 19th July = payable by 7th Sep!!!

Or am I getting this wrong?
*

Yup. My budget follows my credit card payment cycle

I recently applied Standard Chartered Credit Card through Compare Hero free Airpods offer and got rejected.

I am earning more than their listed requirement which is >2k monthly income.

However, I have a car loan and PTPTN in my CCRIS record, currently holding a Maybank Ikhwan card too.

Any sifus here know what's the problem? I pay my PTPTN, loans and CC balance on time every month.  icon_question.gif

I've been rejected many times on CC applications, even my Maybank Ikhwan CC was offered by Maybank themselves through my car loan records.    sweat.gif

No one knows what's the actual reason of cc rejection. Bank never disclose the reason.

Most probably the bold part.

If you keep applying cc so frequently and keep getting rejected this might be 1 of the reason also because seem desperate for credits.

Well the MBB guy "help" you to apply doesn't mean it will be guarantee approved. That guy just try to get extra commission if you card is approved.
