Hi folks, in terms of building credit score, is it a good idea to pay your outstanding amount immediately after using your card (e.g groceries and petrol)?

I just got my first CC from maybank and found this feature within maybank2u.

From what I find online it seems like not a bad thing, but my friend said this would slow down my credit building progress

What your friend said is true. If you keeping paying immediately what you spent, you wont have any outstanding balance. It will be reflected that you didnt utilise the card hence no credit history.

Affin duo sounds like good deal. 3% = 80 = 2.66k

But i have PB VS & QM + AM true visa.
Together the cashback are more and higher in term of %
Rm38+30+30=98 = 4.38% = 2.23k
PB VS/QM no AF and can waive SST. Ambank also.

BP only max 2.5k reload via CC and max 2k transfer out.
I guess

Well, one shouldn't limit the usage to just only BigPay.

Holding my spending amount constant, taking extra card will not increase cashback unless i spend more.

No other spending can be converted to online. Only spending currently no cashback is my gym subscription. Most of my dining needs already converted to grabpay/bigpay.

I keep getting rejected in my new credit card application
Does having alot of current credit card can contribute to being rejected? My credit score is high and my income is above the min requirement of the new cc im applying for.

Currently im having 5 credit card. Maybank2 card, public bank quantum and one others. Both of these come in 2 card and have portion that i dont really use for example non amex portion of maybank card and non online portion of public bank quantum. Hence just wondering if i close/deactivated the card that idont use that much, would it help in applying for new cc that is more useful?

Rejection from which bank or banks?
I dont see banks rejecting because of high credit limit granted on other facilities so as long as they are not fully utilised
