I dont spend much on CC but i need to spend min RM15k per annum to get it waived.

The bank officer told me 100% can waive even if i didn't spend 15k per year.

Now i keep worrying about the AF.

Btw its hlb sutera card.
*
AF is an upfront payment. If you are worried that waiver may not be granted, do not use the card once the AF is charged. Then try asking for waiver. If not granted, then you can have the option of terminating the card.

Hi Sifu, not surer is this the right forum to ask. I recently just applied & gotten my UOB PRVI Miles credit card. Now I'm trying to pay for the outstanding balance but not able to do so from the UOB app because I only have Maybank saving account. Is there any way to pay from my Maybank app to my outstanding UOB credit card? If no, can I pay from the UOB ATM?
*
From Maybank online, duitnow to the UOB card account number.

guys a question regarding signing for installment purchases on retail

HSBC credit card limit:60k. recently i did a 50k installment (24months) on solar panel installation. the card credit limit monthly is instantly limited to only 10k, and gradually increases until i pay finish the 24 months installment. called to ask hsbc and they say thats how retail installment works.

had another stand chart card with 80k limit, did a harvey norman 24months installment on electronics of 50k for my house, yet my credit limit stays around 70k+ every month as my installment per month is only 2k+ and they do not lock away 50k of my limit on my card.

is this a bank policy issue on hsbc? first time hearing that signing installment plan can lock up the whole credit card limit

Actually, the one by HSBC is what I know as common practice

If you get charge with financial interest charge, will it appear in CCRIS?

CCRIS shows the late payment only as at the last day of every month.
Financial charge doesn't mean late payment.
Even you don't settle the statement balance in full, but pay >5% of statement balance, it still show "0" on late payment.
*
For my case, I got charged with a BT early settlement fee in the November statement. Got it waived before the due date. Then a financial interest charge appear in the December statement. To avoid any issue, I paid that fee in full. So I suppose it will show 0 at CCRIS hmm.gif

Actually what is the logic behind online transactions for overseas payment captured according to their timezone? I made two transactions (using PBB and MBB) on 1-Jan-2024 but both posted as 31-Dec-2023 transactions.

Transaction date/time at Merchant, which is beyond you and your card issuer can control.

SMS notiffication and even the bank unposted transaction showed 1-Jan-2024, then later changed to 31-Dec-2023

Transaction occurred at the merchant, so ignore your OTP/SMS/unposted record.

Eg you bought something at Tesco London on 31/12/23 8pm (Malaysia 1/1/24 4am). Legally the transaction happened at 31/12/23 8pm GMT, the transaction date recorded by Visa/MasterCard/Amex is 31/12/23.

Normally monthly CB is based on posted transactions. Your transaction is settled (posted) in January not December.

Campaign CB is different story.
*
PBB affected one is campaign CB and the flexipay campaign because Trans in Dec, posted in Jan.

For MBB, you are right. Posted in Jan, can console abit.

The item after discounted also over 5k so I guess the second method is not suitable for me.

For PBB VS that's if monthly installment also can get cashback? I remembered the card has been revised before so I only use it for dining only.

So if let's say 5k and installment for 6 months for online items FROM Shopee.. I still get 3% for 6 months? So this should be the best option?

I applied for a Maybank credit card in late 2022 via Ringgitplus, I got rejected then.

I just applied again today evening, got rejected again!

How is this possible? I got a housing loan approved at their "best" rate, i.e. 3.85% a few months ago.

I have all 0s on my CCRIS. I have 5 credit cards - 3 with usage around 60%, 2 more with almost nil usage.

I've never been rejected by another bank. In the past 12 to 24 months, I have had cards approved by - RHB, SCB, HLB, HSBC, Citibank/UOB, AEON, Alliance. Not a single rejected application.

But been rejected by Maybank twice now. Plus these guys are my primary bank.

Anyone faced this with Maybank?

You applied online at M2U?

Ringgitplus which routes to M2U

I think quite a number of us faced rejection via m2u but later successful via manual application/fill up form and email.
